:It's highly unlikely that DK will be just an opponent character, considering he has no other traits that make him stand out from the other playable characters, or from the boss character. He's the same size, has a character face icon, has a racket, and has been playable in almost all previous ''Mario Tennis'' games. And unlike the boss fight, while playing against him in the video, it looked like a normal tennis match instead of some boss fight. They showed Donkey Kong right after they mentioned the Story Mode. Donkey Kong could be just an opponent. It's not confirmed that he's a playable character. For all we know, Mario, Luigi, Wario and Waluigi may be the only playable characters. B ron 3000 20:10, 18 January 2018 (EST)
- It's highly unlikely that DK will be just an opponent character, considering he has no other traits that make him stand out from the other playable characters, or from the boss character. He's the same size, has a character face icon, has a racket, and has been playable in almost all previous Mario Tennis games.
