An Item Crystal is an object in the upcoming game Super Mario Galaxy. It is a three-layer crystal found all over the game. Item Crystals can be opened using Mario's Star Spin move; inside them are items such as Coins, 1-Up Mushrooms, and sometimes, Boost Stars.
