Yoshi Hill, or Acorn Plains-3, is the third course of Acorn Plains in New Super Mario Bros. U. It is the first course to have Green Yoshi, as well as rolling hills. Completing the course unlocks both Mushroom Heights and Rise of the Piranha Plants.

Layout

The course is filled with rolling hills and large blue ledges, along with slanted ledges. As this course introduces Green Yoshi gameplay, many secrets and Star Coins can only be reached with Yoshi.

Star Coins

  • Star Coin 1: Shortly after the first block containing Yoshi, the player can either normally jump, Flutter Jump, or use Flying Squirrel suit's gliding abilities.
  • Star Coin 2: After the first Star Coin, there are two Brick Blocks barely obscured by the foreground. Super Mario or Yoshi can use their Ground Pounding abilities to break them. On the right, there's a pipe that leads to the sub-area containing the second Star Coin.
  • Star Coin 3: Between the two highest ledges in a stair-step platform near the end of the level, if you drop down there is a red Warp Pipe. Once you go down it, the star coin is over a pit. It is easiest to get using Yoshi's Flutter Jump.
