At first, the heroes are unable to survive in Outer Space, as there is not any air to breath. Instead, they need a space helmet or something like it. Merlon had previously given a fishbowl to Pook, but the fish, Captain Gills, was getting too big for it. Pook agrees to give Mario the fishbowl, but only if he finds Captain Gills a place nearby to live.
