Template:Articleabout Template:Galaxybox The Rolling Gizmo Galaxy is a galaxy in Super Mario Galaxy. It is one of the three Trial Galaxies. Like the Rolling Green Galaxy, this galaxy features the Star Roll. Unlike the Rolling Green Galaxy, which is rather plain and grassy, this galaxy has many gadgets, electronics, and is much more challenging.

Planets/Areas

This first part of the course consists of a zigzag leading up to a bunch of breakable blocks that can be broken by jumping. Behind the blocks is a bridge that Mario must jump to knock down much like the blocks. Note that if Mario travel first to the bridge without the ball there will be a bunch of blue star bits in a pile hovering behind it. Behind the bridge is a launcher that will launch Mario to the second part of this area. The second part of is just a small hole with coins all around it that Mario can collect. The hole leads to the second area.

The second part is a large orange rectangle with holes and goombas. Mario must tread carefully lest he fall into a hole.

The third part is a large area full of many different gadgets. There are several spinning platforms, a large die that can push the player off the edge, and several Bob-omb dispensers.

This is the final area consisting of a large gear and a long walkway with two dice running around it that will try to push Mario off. This leads up to the windmill and the final hole that will break the star ball. If Mario rides onto the second die he can easily make it to the end.

Missions

Gizmos, Gears, and Gadgets

The player (as Mario or Luigi) simply has to traverse the galaxy with a Star Ball. At the beginning there is a zigzag path with two Goombas and a 1-Up. Mario must traverse it onto a large flat platform with walls, a hill and another Goomba. There are four gigantic blocks that release a coin when hit which Mario must destroy at least two of to get to a bridge which Mario must knock down with the ball. After crossing the bridge, there will be a cannon which will blast the ball and Mario to the next planet. There will be a funnel with many coins all around it which Mario must go through onto a path made of two wires which take Mario down to the next area. In the next area Mario must go across multiple gears to a large dice block and a rotating platform. Mario must wait for the block to move then go across the platform before the block comes back. There are several more gears and a ramp leading to another wired path which leads to another path. On the path there are two small dice blocks which Mario has to avoid to get to the end where there is a star ball-opener to open the star.

Trivia

  • In the first area, if the player were to go right next to the still upright bridge without the star ball and go into first person view, they would see a lot of blue star bits. If the player were to get on top of the bridge (by backflipping off a block and wall-jumping off the bridge) and went into first person view on the edge of the bridge and looked down, it would be revealed that the group of blue star bits was in the shape of a Rupee (money from Zelda). Knocking down the bridge makes the star bit cluster disappear.
