In Super Mario Bros. 3, if the player defeats a Koopaling while wearing the Frog, Hammer or Tanooki Suit, the rescued king will give the player a different message.
In the US Version of the game Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, if the boss Mom Piranha is defeated while she is colored purple, the player will not recieve any coins.
There are 231 Star Coins in New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
