The title of this article is conjectural; an official name for the article's subject has not been found, so it has been given a fitting title by the editors. If an official name is found, then the article should be moved to its appropriate title.
Poison Water is a swamp-like liquid found in Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy, New Super Mario Bros. and New Super Mario Bros. Wii When Mario or Luigi fall into it, they die upon contact and lose a life. It is comparable to lava in its effect. Dorrie, however can swim in it. Poison Water can be green, purple or clear, depending on its location.
In Super Mario Sunshine, Poison Water appears in a Secret Area found within Delfino Plaza. In this area, Mario must ride a leaf down a river of Poison Water in order to collect eight Red Coins. Also worth noting is that in certain episodes of Bianco Hills and Noki Bay, the water is polluted and can still hurt Mario, but will not kill him instantly.
In New Super Mario Bros., Poison Water can be found throughout several stages in World 4.
In Super Mario Galaxy, Poison Water appears in Bubble Breeze Galaxy as well as Toy Time Galaxy's Purple Coin challenge. It also appears in the sequel, Super Mario Galaxy 2, in Cloudy Court Galaxy and Boo Moon Galaxy.
In New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Poison Water can be found throughout several stages in World 5. Here, it seems that the water can cause enemies to grow to giant sizes, as giant Wigglers, known as Mega Wigglers, appear in large numbers in a cave full of poison water. Only Wigglers seem to have this effect, though. Giant Koopa Shells also appear in World 5-1, which could've been Koopas, who originally fell in Poison Water.
