:::Feel free to revise or remove the trivia point. Personally, I don't find it notable as a trivia. The "speaking in parentheses" is a mechanic to illustrate the character is speaking in another language, but is being translated for your convenience. The Yoshi Kid doesn't speak in parentheses because, quite obviously, he's speaking the same language as Mario. ::::Yeah, I basically see it as "TRIVIA!!!! this yoshi... is like EVERY OTHER YOSHI in paper mari ogames! also, it doesn't swallow things and has hair!"--[[User:Topmonhit|Topmonhit]] 16:35, 21 December 2009 (EST) |

Should we change this article to The Great Gonzales Jr?. It's an official name. Paper Jorge ( Need to tell me something? Go to my talk page.·Contributions·) 19:03, 3 November 2006 (EST)
I think that would be a good idea. -- Sir Grodus
I agree. Para Yoshi Wahoo! 19:10, 3 November 2006 (EST)
Just make a redirect for it. Don't change the name! 3dejong
I did. But...more people agree that we should change it. Paper Jorge ( Need to tell me something? Go to my talk page.·Contributions·) 19:23, 3 November 2006 (EST)
I agree with paper jorge hes got the right idea!--Lord Crump 19:40, 3 November 2006 (EST)
But that's not his real name, just his alias in the Glitz Pit. 3dejong
He doesn't have a real name. -- Sir Grodus
The closest thing to a real name is "Great Gonzales Jr." yoshi kid is what the wiki refers to him as.--Lord Crump 19:53, 3 November 2006 (EST)
Yes, Yoshi Kid is not official. Great Gonzales Jr. is probably the only "official" name he has. Paper Jorge ( Need to tell me something? Go to my talk page.·Contributions·) 23:18, 3 November 2006 (EST)
Should we change Mario to the Great Gonzales? =P Seriously though, what's the default name if you don't write anything? That's another possible option. Also, isn't the Japanese name Chibi Yoshi, or Yoshi Kid? -- Son of Suns
His default name is simply Yoshi. -- Sir Grodus
I have an idea! How about someone just transfers This main article to the Yoshi article, and simply state that the name you give him is optional?--PeteyPiranhaLover 22:24, 14 December 2006 (EST)
- No. He is a distinct and seperate character. -- Son of Suns
Another Name Idea
Nintendo's website's Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door page[1] refers to him as "ornery mini-Yoshi". Could "mini-Yoshi" be his name? They sorta say it like it's an official name, but the fact that "mini" isn't capitalized gives me a few doubts... --YellowYoshi398 09:59, 6 January 2007 (EST)
Nope, not official. The game itself is more official-and the game never calls him any other name than the name you give him OR just Yoshi (or Gonzales Jr.). File:Mayor.gifPaper Jorge
- The Japanese name for him is Chibi Yoshi (no joke!). Talk - how ye like meh sig?
Crazy Name Idea
I got one...maybe the article every time it says Yoshi Kid it will be replaced with {{'''User:Yourname/Yoshi Kid'''}} which contains the name you gave your Yoshi Kid.
People who don't have the game or haven't made that template, will see just Yoshi Kid. Possible? File:Mayor.gifPaper Jorge
No way. Article shouldn't be made for personal names and such. User:Knife/sig1
- Oh, I really like that idea. Is it possibly though? Talk
That's really kewl idea...
XzelionKrayt is a parnter in....ETC
Let me see if I can do it.

Eyup, it isn't possible. I think you should just leave it alone, it's too much effort to do.

What about people who copied their file in the game from somebody else's memory card to their own memory card, like me?-KP Shadow
Yoshi (kid) is better
Now this guy makes a cameo in Super Paper Mario, and could appear in more games. Secondly, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is NOT PM2. Techincally there is no PM2 – the sequel isn't numbered, but titled. Wa TC@Y 20:15, 14 April 2007 (EDT)
yoshis "job"
dosnt yoshi kid also take parrakarrys job of getting over pits with hit float jump ability? the abilitys are very similar in effect. Dstroyer 666 14:37, 6 August 2007 (EDT)
Yeah, but that doesn't seem much to note. You can add it if you want, though. 14:40, 6 August 2007 (EDT)
it just didnt make much sense to have the lakilester note but not that im adding it Dstroyer 666 17:42, 6 August 2007 (EDT)
THE official name?
Check out the E3 2004 Paper Mario 2 presentation on IGN. http://media.cube.ign.com/media/573/573664/vids_4.html (Part 1 or 2, I think. It's been very long since I viewed the video myself.) As you can clearly see, the Yoshi Kid is called "Feroshi". I think this is as official as it gets, guys. General Guy 11:43, 3 September 2007 (EDT)
- Um, thats just what the player named the Yoshi, makes nothing really official. XzelionETC
- Well, "the player" was a Nintendo representative. General Guy 14:56, 3 September 2007 (EDT)
What X said, and you can't skip naming it, so that means it's just Yoshi (Kid) Mr. Guy the Guy Talk!
- It would just be like if my vid was on there Krayt (name of my yoshi) wouldn't be the official name, there is really no official name since the game leaves the name up to the player. XzelionETC
- In my game, he's called Mini-Yoshi by Eddie the Mask. But I've got the German version... - Cobold (talk · contribs) 12:00, 3 September 2007 (EDT)
- Like your vid? You mean you played the game before its release in front of a live audience at the E3 as a Nintendo representative, just like this guy? Nice! General Guy 14:56, 3 September 2007 (EDT)
Is he called "Yoshi Kid" ingame? If no, maybe we could move the name to Mini-Yoshi. Glowsquid
- Well, I don't know whether it's called Mini-Yoshi in the English version, I only have the German one. Also, the SPM Catch Card names him simply "Yoshi". - Cobold (talk · contribs) 16:57, 3 September 2007 (EDT)
- The fact that it's the German name is not a problem, just put the {{Anotherlanguage}} template on the page.
Questionable information
The article states that there's another Yoshi somewhere in the game (outside of battle) in Paper Mario: TYD. I do remember seeing a ripped sprite of that Yoshi, but where in the game could you find it? -- ChaosMiles07 *Chaøs Cøntrøl!* 00:45, 2 December 2007 (EST)
Occasionally on the Excess Express, he's green. -- Sir Grodus 09:37, 2 December 2007 (EST)
Also, he doesn't appear on the first main trip, you need to take another ride afterwards. -- Booster
Okay, that makes sense then. Thanks. -- ChaosMiles07 *Chaøs Cøntrøl!* 16:55, 7 December 2007 (EST)
Name Game
- What if we changed it to "Unnamed Yoshi" since he has no official name? — Stooben Rooben Who'da thunk?
Third it!--User:Luigi3000|Luigi3000 19:14, 28 August 2008 (EDT)
Gonzales
Really I think he should be Gonzales Jr. cuz It was made bye himself so thats just as official as it gets so all who favor my idea say PIE!Luigi3000I might take it to proposals if we cant agree on something.
Parenthesis
Excuse me, but I do not recall the yoshis in Paper Mario speaking in parenthesis. (The trivia states that unlike the other RPGs, this yoshi doesn't speak in parenthesis).--Topmonhit 15:39, 21 December 2009 (EST)
- They do in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, and I believe in the Mario & Luigi series as well. Redstar 15:45, 21 December 2009 (EST)
