Caped Mario
Cape Mario flying.

Flying is a move that is related to jumping. It lets you float in the air for a while. Enemies such as Fly Guy and Paragoomba can fly.

Also the hero of a game can fly. This feature first appeared in Super Mario Bros. 2. When Mario, Luigi, Princess Toadstool or Toad stole Pidgit's magic carpet to defeat this pesky bird, can ride on the carpet, can fly on it. In Super Mario Bros. 3, when Mario picked up a Super Leaf, Mario turns into Raccoon Mario and is able to fly. An related item is the Tanooki Suit in the same game.
