Remove Mario Kart 7

While in certain senses, Mario Kart 7 is the ninth Mario Kart game, its title defines it as being the 7th Mario Kart game. People looking for the 9th Mario Kart game have almost certainly dismissed Mario Kart 7 as that game. Since a disambiguation page is meant to direct the user to the page(s) they want to see, Mario Kart 7 should be excluded. Salmancer (talk) 14:02, January 19, 2025 (EST)

I agree with Polley001; there are enough variables that multiple games could qualify as the ninth Mario Kart title. That being said, I also feel this disambiguation page is unnecessary with the fact that these factors could also be applied to other games and their positions. One could say that Mario Kart Wii is not "Mario Kart 6" because two arcade games came before it. I kinda feel this page exists because we're jumping some hoops just to justify it's existence as a disambiguation page when realistically, it should just redirect to Tour because Nintendo has officially stated it to be a part of the mainline series when they announced the Booster Course Pass. If it were up to me it would either redirect to Tour or simply not exist at all, this disambiguation page to me is just a compromise to avoid an endless back and forth of changing which page Mario Kart 9 redirects to (and even if it's deleted, it seems likely someone would just recreate it again unless some kind of lock can be implemented). I'd also be down for deleting it overall if it comes to that. This whole thing is just a "One person could consider this vs. one person could consider that" situation. Super Mario Bros. 4 doesn't have a disambiguation page, it just leads straight to Super Mario World, despite Super Mario Land being the fourth game in the series or for those who'd also consider Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels being the second game, leading to Super Mario World technically being the sixth game. Case in point, this particular situation isn't being done elsewhere and I don't see why this needs to be a special case. Tails777 Talk to me!16:59, January 19, 2025 (EST)

There's a lot of disagreement as to what would be considered 9, so I'm not for attributing this to one single subject, also because it could be misleading (calling Tour 9 when it's possible the Switch 2 game will be 9, or calling the Switch 2 game 9 while disregarding Tour which Nintendo seems to imply is a mainline game). But since people will be using this as a search term anyway, I'd say we can keep it as a disambiguation but at the very least keep it to just Tour and the Switch 2 game since those are the most common interpretations (also, calling GP VR 9 while ignoring the other GP games doesn't make sense, and 7 being 9 is just too unlikely for obvious reasons), and I can see more potential disagreements from people on what goes on the list because they're including and excluding certain games; but honestly I wouldn't object to just deleting the whole thing altogether either to save all the trouble and just wait until we have more information.
