:It seems unlikely to me that the "-āni" part comes from the initialism "ANI" because I would expect it to be pronounced "Ay En Eye" (each letter pronounced separately) rather than "āni". It seems more likely that "Botchiāni" is supposed to evoke an Italian-sounding name, something like "Bocciani". {{User:Jdtendo/sig}} 01:30, January 13, 2025 (EST) |

I think we should use Reclusa's In-game artwork for the infobox
This talk page proposal has already been settled. Please do not edit this section or its subsections. If you wish to discuss the article, please do so in a new section below the proposal. |

I think we should use the in-game artwork of Reclusa over the current screenshot.
Here is how I think it should look:
Reclusa | |
---|---|
In-game artwork of Reclusa from when Shun talks about Reclusa's backstory | |
First appearance | Mario & Luigi: Brothership (2024) |
Here is how it currently is:
Reclusa | |
---|---|
Reclusa's appearance in-game | |
First appearance | Mario & Luigi: Brothership (2024) |
Elder Princess Shroob's page currently uses in-game artwork, as there is no official artwork on any Nintendo website for her.
Reclusa | |
---|---|
In-game artwork of the Elder Princess Shroob's battle with Princess Peach | |
Species | Shroob |
First appearance | Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time (2005) |
Latest appearance | Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey (cameo) (2018) |
Reclusa and the Elder Shroob are both similar in that neither were featured in the promotional materials and are revealed to be the main villains late game. I think my edit is not only more in-line with the Elder Shroob page, it is my opinion that it makes the page look nicer. Nightwicked Bowser (talk) thinks the current screenshot is better, so I say we put it to a vote and let people vote on it.

Oppose
- Technetium (talk) Elder Princess Shroob's art shows her entire body clearly, while Reclusa's art doesn't.
- Nightwicked Bowser (talk) As I said, the lighting and coloring are not great in the artwork and also not fully accurate to Reclusa's main depiction, whereas the Elder Princess Shroob artwork is.
- Sparks (talk) Per all. The lighting is the issue in my opinion.
Comments
Does this need a proposal? Couldn't we have just discussed this first? Not every discussion has to become a proposal. Technetium (talk) 17:32, November 19, 2024 (EST)
Personally I was thinking a render of the ripped model, using a pose and angle from the game (the animations can be ripped too so that wouldn't even need to be recreated) is the way to go. I already have a render ready to go but if this is a contentious discussion I'll wait on it. I think that's better than a screenshot because it's a transparent image of the character. -- 07:25, November 20, 2024 (EST)
- I wouldn't be opposed to using that model. Nightwicked Bowser 07:55, November 20, 2024 (EST)
- Agreed. Technetium (talk) 08:15, November 20, 2024 (EST)
- Me three! Sparks (talk) 08:19, November 20, 2024 (EST)
- Me four. I think that model looks good. Polterpup (talk) 10:58, November 20, 2024 (EST)
- Do you prefer it over the in-game artwork? Technetium (talk) 12:02, November 20, 2024 (EST)
- The render at least shows more detail of Reclusa's body without the extra lighting. Let's use it. --Zootalo (talk) 14:28, November 20, 2024 (EST)

Since there is some agreement to use Fawfulthegreat64's render even from the proposer, I'm thinking we should just cancel this proposal and use that. Nightwicked Bowser 15:08, November 20, 2024 (EST)
- Sounds good to me. We can use Fawful 64's render. How exactly do I cancel a proposal? I've hardly done any propsals before and the proposal instructions page says I can cancel it as long as 6 days haven't passed since the proposal. Polterpup (talk) 22:02, November 20, 2024 (EST)
- To cancel it, simply replace the "TPP" template with "settled TPP", and then below that add the proposal outcome template with "cancelled". If you need an example for the code, look at the talk page proposal archive - anything in pink was cancelled by the proposer, so you can copy the templates from that. Or I could just add it for you, maybe - what do you prefer? Technetium (talk) 22:33, November 20, 2024 (EST)
You probably can't fail the final falling sequence
To test if the claim that not landing the finishing blow in time causes a Game Over, I revisited the final boss. I made it to the final part where you're falling and need to repeatedly hit Reclusa, and did nothing for entire minutes, and nothing changed. I do not think it's possible to fail.

"Is the first final boss in the Mario & Luigi series to not be any form of Bowser."
What about Fawful? IIRC, Fawful never possessed Bowser's body/essence. That was the Dark Star's doing. 98.114.59.56 07:54, December 13, 2024 (EST)
- Fawful was not the final boss of Bowser's Inside Story. It was Dark Bowser and the Dark Star Core, and Dark Bowser is a dark copy of Bowser. Sparks (talk) 08:34, December 13, 2024 (EST)
- I believe the main point of that statement is no form of Bowser has any involvement in the final boss in any way; Bowletta in Superstar Saga, Shrowser in Partners in Time, Dark Bowser in Bowser's Inside Story, Dreamy Bowser in Dream Team, and Shiny RoboBowser in Paper Jam. Brothership's entire final battle has no battles against Bowser nor even a copy of him whatsoever. Nightwicked Bowser 08:51, December 13, 2024 (EST)
Possible etymology for Reclusa's JPN name
