Species | Theet |
First appearance | Princess Peach: Showtime! (2024) |
- “I need not say anything. You've used skillful deduction to get this far, and I'm sure your intuition will lead you to the truth.”
- —Detective Sparkla, Princess Peach: Showtime!
Detective Sparkla is a Sparkla Theet in Princess Peach: Showtime!. He shows up as himself in The Dark Museum & the Purple Mystery, and his backstory is brought up in the earlier level The Case of the Missing Mural.
He is initially trapped in the basement of the Sparkle Theater by Grape. After clearing The Case of the Rainy-Day Plot, Princess Peach and Stella have the opportunity to rescue the Detective Sparkla in the stage The Dark Museum & the Purple Mystery.
Appearances[edit]
The Case of the Missing Mural[edit]
A photo of him is seen in his office, as well as a note on his desk that says "I'm off to investigate an intriguing case. Mind the office while I'm out." with him very likely having been captured in the basement of Sparkle Theater during that case.
His office's bookshelves contain lots of documents of solved cases as well as mystery novels.
The Dark Museum & the Purple Mystery[edit]
Junior Detective arrives and tells Detective Peach that he has found four Detective Sparklas, but only one of them is the real one. The real Detective Sparkla is confident and knows the abilities of Detective Peach. After he is freed, both detectives make their escape.
They come across a dead end, but when they try to go back, they find themselves in the same room, but with one difference. The Detective Sparkla takes a picture of the other room and posts the picture on the wall of the first room. After Detective Peach finds the difference, the path forward is revealed, and both detectives continue their escape.
At the roof of the museum, both detectives find Junior Detective, who claims that he found the exit. The Detective Sparkla asks him three questions: the first is about what color cushions Junior Detective would like, what time to arrive when meeting someone, and their opinion on Grape. It is then revealed that this Junior Detective is actually a Sour Bunch member in disguise, and the real exit is revealed. Both detectives then escape.
Afterwards[edit]
The Detective Sparkla can afterwards be found on the fourth floor of the Sparkle Theater, admired by other Theets.
Before the final battle against Grape, all of the Sparklas, including the Detective Sparkla give Princess Peach Sparkle Power to allow her to transform into Radiant Peach. All of the Sparklas are then seen in the ending where they celebrate with everyone.
Quotes[edit]
- "Just in case anything happens to me, I'm leaving this note behind as a guide. The central door will open once exhibits with a shared element are examined in proper order. You must already have shown impressive skill to get this far. I'm positive you can solve this. Good luck. - Detective Sparkla" (Detective Sparkla's note)
- "It's me! You know it's really me!" (the first imposter)
- "I'm the real Detective Sparkla!"
- "Hurry now! Use a Tuition Strike!"
- "I'm the real one…" (the second imposter)
- "The real Detective Sparkla, that is. I'm glad you finally made it here."
- "I have been through a lot since Madame Grape captured me. It's time we escaped..."
- "You're lookin' at the great detective!" (the third imposter)
- "I'm the real Detective Sparkla!"
- "Get me outta here, and we can solve this case faster than you can say "deception"!"
- "And once we're done, what do you think of becoming my very first assistant?"
- "Hmm." (the real one)
- "I need not say anything."
- "You've used skillful deduction to get this far, and I'm sure your intuition will lead you to the truth."
- "Thank you! You've proven to be quite an astute detective!" (after being rescued)
- "There wasn't a doubt in my mind you'd puzzle out the solution to that problem."
- "Now then, let's make our escape!"
- "A dead end... We'll have to find another way out." (after arriving at an endless space room)
- "Let's look around and see if there are any useful clues to be found..."
- "Nothing amiss…"
- "Nothing seems to be amiss. Perhaps we should backtrack and look for another route?"
- "Hmm. We should have returned to the room we came from, but...how strange." (Entering the other room)
- "Hmm…"
- "It appears we have been pulled into some sort of mysterious space..."
- "There must be clues around here though..."
- "To start, l've taken a photo of the scene. It may come in handy as a reference." (After taking a picture of the other room)
- "Another dead end…"
- "Two rooms that appear quite similar and a single door that connects them..." (returning to the first room)
- "We seem to be trapped between the rooms."
- "Or so it would seem. There must be some clue as to how we can escape."
- "I'll hang the photo I just took up on the wall. Let's hope it is of some use."
- "Hmm…" (looking at his picture)
- "It appears you've solved the mystery! Well done!" (after Peach uses the Strike of Intuition to open the dead end)
- "Let's head to the exit! Onward!"
- "Let's make our escape!"
- "Well, if it isn't Junior! And you even got here before us."
- "Hmm."
- "Actually, let's take a moment before we do. I'd like to ask you a few simple questions first."
- "As you know, the sofa in our office doesn't have a single cushion on it."
- "If you were going to purchase a cushion for it, what color would you pick?"
- "Excellent. Next, if you are meeting someone at nine o'clock, when would you arrive?"
- "I see, I see... All right, one final question."
- "What do you think about this Grape character?"
- "Very well. We have all the answers we need." (to Peach after asking the Junior Detective some questions)
- "Think carefully on how my assistant answered my questions." (before Peach uses Strike of Intuition on him)
- "When the truth of the matter is clear to you, there is but one thing to do!"
- "Wait! Don't do it! That exit..." (after Peach goes into the fake exit)
- "I knew it! Both the exit and the fake junior detective were deceptions!" (After Peach uses the Strike of Intrusion at Junior Detective revealing a Sour Criminal)
- "The true exit stands before us now. Come, let's make our escape!"
- "Deductive reasoning at its finest." (After completing The Dark Museum & the Purple Mystery for the first time)
- "There’s no case we can’t solve." (Initial dialogue in Sparkle Theater)
- "New mysteries await…" (After defeating Grape)
