By now, everything was taken from the trailers ;)

Ok :) --TucayoSig.png The 'Shroom 18:24, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Is it confirmed that Shy Guys and Red Yoshi will be playable? I saw them in the trailer playing. However, players weren't controlling them. Mcboo-idle-ML.gifMcQueenMarioMcboo-idle-ML.gif

Well, normally they would be played by a human, but there's the possibility they aren't playable... So, as I said, cite your sources or die. If anything is not proved, it must be removed. --TucayoSig.png The 'Shroom 04:46, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

I found information that the game will be released in North America on January 4, 2011. No comment... - WiiRevolution

No, the release date for this game is 2/7/2011, or February 7, 2011. Looks like the game magazines lied on this game! - Reddragon19k

WTF?

Why do people keep deleting my edits? This happened on the Mario Superstar Baseball article, too!

Beecanoe (talk)

Because not all of the sports have been confirmed! And if we don't know how many sports are found in this game, that trivia is useless and may be wrong.Dry Bones in Paper MarioCount Bonsula I need blood...Ml2 drybones.png

I saw that the developer was Square Enix. Does this mean maybe Moogle and Ninja, and also some other characters from Mario Hoops may return? New Super Mario120px-NSMkart.png

Wi-Fi confirmed + 7 New Characters

Hello! I have some news! ^^ On the Japanese website of the game, they revealed some info! Here -> Mario Sports Mix. It shows us that Wi-fi is confirmed! That's a great new! Also, if you go on the Characters's page, you can see 7 more hidden characters. Sambiss Talk

That means the hidden characters , are from the final fantasy series. Artwork of Birdo from Itadaki Street DS.BirdobeautiesBirdo bye bye Birdo, toadette, rosalina T_T

Europeon Release date

I'm confused. I thought that the Mario Sports Mix release date for Europe was January 28, 2011 according to this link: http://gamefocus.ca/?nav=new&nid=11923

But now when I checked the article for Mario Sports Mix again on this wiki, the release date is February 4, 2011. Does anybody know if Jan. 28th is the real date or Feb. 4th?

Mario's artwork from Mario Party 8 Mario304 (Talk) Mario SSB Artwork.png

We usually check the Nintendo official sites first; the Nintendo Europe website has this game's release listed as February 4, 2011. --M. C. - "Mario Gals" Fan! User Page | Talk Page 01:51, 25 November 2010 (UTC)

Okay. I must have gotten the wrong date then. Thanks!

USA Release Date

I went to my local GameStop and checked the release date book and discovered that the release of th USA version of this game is January 4, 2011.

User:KoopaWiki1989

It's probably a placeholder. Fawfulfury65
What do ya mean, Fawfulfury65? It's the truth! KoopaWiki1989
I don't trust stores for offering release dates. I rather rely on official websites or other places. BabyLuigiFire.pngRay Trace(T|C)
My point exactly; it's best to wait for news from Nintendo of America themselves regarding when Mario Sports Mix's release date in NA will be. --M. C. - "Mario Gals" Fan! User Page | Talk Page 02:53, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
On second thought, you're right. I went to the GameStop site it says it'll come out February 1, 2011. Here's the proof: [[1]] KoopaWiki1989
Of course! The book said January 4, but the actual release date is February 7! Looks like the NOA found the release date after all. User:Reddragon19k

Final Boss: Behemoth

The final fantasy character Behemoth is confirmed to be the final boss. Why isn't it mentioned anywhere in the article. Proof is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nEJmzi-daXQ Someone should add it already! User:MarioMaster720

The video says it is the only boss. Fawfulfury65

Edit from Last Week

Waluigi Pinball and Koopa Troopa Beach need their own articles. I tried to do it last week but I couldn't do it easily. Also some courts should have another name outside Japan like Bowser Jr.s Bvld.

Players

I got MSM game, but there's no characters like White Mage, Moogle, etc. Here's screenshot: [3]. Do I have to unlock them somehow? SWFlashSWFlash.svg

I've never played it, but I can already say this: yes. They were confirmed to appear in it. Fawfulfury65
To unlock characters it needs to win Story Mode (any), 1 character per win. Wuuck.png (so random) SWFlashSWFlash.svg

Courts that still need articles

The following courts still need an article:

I created a Table Western article that got deleted. One court may have a different name outside Japan. Someone should create them.

Unlocks

Split?

Should we split Basketball/Voleyball/Dodgeball/Hockey/Sports Mix from here? SWFlashSWFlash.svg

Nah, they are separate game modes; they can be incorporated into this article easily. However, the current information we have is just the bare bones of the mode; we need more description. BabyLuigiFire.pngRay Trace(T|C)

Behemoth Battle Controls

I'm in a bit of a pickle with the controls for the Behemoth Battle. While I have the Wii Remote (horizontal) controls down, I don't exactly know the controls for when you're using the Wii Remote with the Nunchuk attachment; I've only played the game with the Wii Remote (horizontal) control scheme. If anyone has fought Behemoth with the Wii Remote + Nunchuk control scheme, please tell me what you know. RedYoshiMK7Signature.png M&SG (talk) 07:50, 8 March 2011 (EST)

Well, how you move around is the same for dodgeball, you dodge in the same manner by shaking the Wii Remote. You toss the ball by pressing A and you use motion controls for volleyball to hit the ball. You can also shake the Wii Remote to use items. Slam dunking is also shaking the Wii Mote upwards. Press and hold the Z button to use the sword thing. I think it's basically it. BabyLuigiFire.pngRay Trace(T|C)

What this article lacks

  • Story (Warning: spoilers! Toads found 4 crystals and ended up giving it to winners of 4 sports. After winning them the crystals merged and suddenly worm hole appeared, in it heroes battling Behemoth). Thanks, BabyLuigiOnFire and Arend!
  • Trivia. Thanks, Arend!
  • How to unlock courts. Thanks, Arend!
  • Reupload this image. Thaks, M&SG!

SWFlashSWFlash.svg

Trivia sections are actually not recommended unless you have a useful piece of information that doesn't fit anywhere in the article. Fawfulfury65
I may be a bit crazy, but the game itself don't have a story... "technically"; so why are folks saying that the background about the Tournament mode needs to be added? The important factors that need to be mentioned (which I believe have already been done so) is the Tournament Mode process itself, which also includes working toward the final battle moments with Bethemoth. --M. C. - "Mario Gals" Fan! User Page | Talk Page 14:56, 14 March 2011 (EDT)
Well, I added it anyway for completedness. I think it implements finely in the Tournament mode of the article. BabyLuigiFire.pngRay Trace(T|C)

Now since Arend made the story section, it now lacks images. I'll upload one soon. SWFlashSWFlash.svg

Done. SWFlashSWFlash.svg

Seems that everything is done. The nly thing is Sports Mix section, and we can support that FA "proposal". SWFlashSWFlash.svg

We're almost done. But there are still some things missing. Here are some other points this article lacks. Most of the tings are optional though.

  • Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection
  • Longer Sports Mix section
  • How many games need to be played to unlock a court
    • Right now, the table says Play a certain number of matches with every court
    • The way how to unlock the court in Tournament mode is complete!
  • Record Book Page 2 needs screenshots from Basketball, Volleyball and Hockey

ArendLogoTransparent.pngrend (talk) (edits)

Regarding Sports Mix mode, that's basically all there is to it. I don't think anything else can be added to it. Yeah, all you're doing is playing a random sport in a harder tournament mode. BabyLuigiFire.pngRay Trace(T|C)

Screenshots

This page has beautiful HQ screenshot. This is obviously a good thing, but I did notice something. Right now there are 19 screenshots on this page.

  • There is 1 screenshot with Hockey gameplay and/or menus
  • There are 4 screenshots with Volleyball gameplay and/or menus
  • There are 4 screenshots with Basketball gameplay and/or menus
  • There are 8 screenshots with Dodgeball gameplay and/or menus
  • There are also 2 screenshots that can depict any sport

As you can see, around 50% of the screenshots use Dodgeball, so it's quite unbalanced. Fortunately, most of the screenshots show menus, but it would be nice if at least the Record Book Page 2 section can get screenshots for every sport, instead for only Dodgeball.

Trivia

Uhh Toad is playable in the Mario baseball series. Why does it say this is his first time since Mario Tennis 64 he was playable?

Tails777 (talk)

Nobody knows if the Toad in Mario Baseball is Toad or a random Toad. The Toad in Mario Baseball has a red fest while Toad has a blue fest. ArendLogoTransparent.pngrend (talk) (edits)

Glitch

I found a glitch but I'm not sure whether to make a glitches page because it would be too small. What should I do? Red Yoshi TTYD.png Yoshiwaker An Orange Yoshi in Paper Mario: Color Splash. 09:18, 18 April 2011 (EDT)

You could at least tell us what glitch you have found. SWFlashSWFlash.svg

Special Moves? (Separate pages?)

Has there been any plans to making separate pages for each character's special moves? Mario Hoops 3-on-3 has the character's special moves with separate pages, so shouldn't the Mario Sports Mix special moves have their own pages? Some of the shots already have names thanks to the ones from Hoops, so the information from MSM can be added to those (eg. Jr's Graffiti shot). I feel that these moves definitely deserve their own pages, as they were all unique and notable.

Also, has anyone been able to upload any pictures of the special shots? I have been looking around for images of them both inside and outside of the Wiki, but I have yet to find any that are of good quality...Artwork of Propeller Yellow Toad in New Super Mario Bros. WiiPropeller ToadArtwork of Propeller Blue Toad in New Super Mario Bros. Wii (talk) 12:31, 19 October 2011 (EDT)

The problem is this -- in the case of Mario Sports Mix, we don't have the actual names of the character's special abilities themselves. We have the descriptions of what they do based on each respective character, of course (on this article), so I can't see how they would correspond with any existing articles that would cover them separately. --M. C. - "Mario Gals" Fan! User Page | Talk Page 15:27, 19 October 2011 (EDT)

The lack of official names would indeed be the biggest problem here. We can't make up the names or assume that they're related to other special shots from Mario Hoops as well.

However, I still feel that these moves deserve an article. So perhaps this idea can this work?: Creating a separate page named as "Special Moves (Mario Sports Mix)". This page can cover the moves, and as well provide the images/screenshots of these images. The names of the moves would be labelled as: "Mario's Special Shot" or "Luigi's Special Shot" and etc. I think this would work; however, I am not sure if this idea would be accepted? Would this be able to work (to represent the moves better)? Artwork of Propeller Yellow Toad in New Super Mario Bros. WiiPropeller ToadArtwork of Propeller Blue Toad in New Super Mario Bros.
