A Bristles is an enemy in the game Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble. These small hedgehogs replace Spinies from Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. They are mostly found in waterfall levels (such as Tracker Barrel Trek) and jungle levels (such as Konveyor Rope Klash). Since they are porcupines, their quills are deadly, and obviously they cannot be jumped on. To defeat one, Dixie Kong or Kiddy Kong must make an attack on the front while one of the baddies is walking about, as the rear and top are very prickly.
Some Bristles can also roll up and hurtle toward a Kong, which makes them totally invincible and even more dangerous. Hopefully, they rarely use this attack.
