Beach Volleyball is a one- or two-player Bonus minigame in Mario Party 5. Mamar hosts the minigame and describes it as "Bump, set... Bob-omb!" It is heavily based on Beach Volley Folly from Mario Party 4, going as far as featuring the same setting (though the Kinopio Burger sign has been changed to Kinopio Cafe).

Gameplay

The game pits two teams of two against each other in a beach volleyball match. There are different types of volleyballs for the players to use:

The game ends once one side accrues 10 to 20 points, depending on the players' settings, and the first team to do so wins.

Controls

  • Control Stick – Move
  • A Button – Hit the ball / Dive
  • B ButtonJump
  • B Button A Button – Spike

In-game text

  • Mamar"Beach Volleyball is a Mini-Game competition. Two teams of two kick up sand and battle it out. You can bump or spike the ball back into your opponents' court. To win, all you've gotta do is earn the set number of points first! Oh! Don't forget about the two special volleyballs. They make this a volleyball game unlike any volleyball game you've ever played! Try them out sometime!"
