A small thing possibly (?) worth mentioning as trivia is that I’m pretty sure they’re the only stompable enemies in the game that take on a different appearance when defeated with a ground pound as opposed to a regular stomp. A regular stomp just flattens them the same way as Goombas and other Octoomba variants but ground pounding them pancakes them with their faces facing upwards. Also, according to Wikipedia Japan their name is タコヘイ (Takohei), unless I'm mixing the descriptions up. Vent 14:54, 28 May 2012 (EDT)
It be a etymology of Octoomba and guy.
Shy Guy?[edit]
Their japanese name is Takohei which simply means Octopus Soldier, but it could also be a portmanteau of Octopus (Tako) and Shy Guy (Heiho). The english translators also seemed to notice this and therefore named the enemy Octoguy.
