Template:Levelbox Chomp Rock 'n' Roll is the second level of World 1 in Yoshi's New Island. It introduces the eponymous Chomp Rock as well as the Mine-Cart Yoshi transformation.

Overview

Screenshot of Yoshi's New Island.

The level starts with a Chomp Rock and some Shy Guys, followed by a pipe that produces Mega Guys for Pink Yoshi to turn into Mega Eggdozers. One Mega Eggdozer must be used to destroy a pipe that blocks an opening to a Whirly Gate; within the Whirly Gate is a power-up that turns Pink Yoshi into a Mine-Cart, and he must reach the end gate by navigating a series of platforms populated with Shy Guys. Past this is a Checkpoint Ring and an Egg Plant. A second Chomp Rock is found in the next area, and Pink Yoshi must use it to clear a path through several walls of soft rock and a bed of thorns, leading to the level's Goal Ring.
