Template:Levelbox Necky's Nuts is the boss level of the Monkey Mines, the second world of Donkey Kong Country. The Kongs must beat Master Necky to progress to Vine Valley. The level's title may be a double entendre referring to male genitalia; Rare was known for often putting innuendos in otherwise innocuous games.

Layout

SNES

As with all world boss fights in Donkey Kong Country, the fight takes place in an arena filled with bananas, in this case within a single screen; and if the player enters with a single Kong, a DK Barrel is instantly broken to ensure they start the fight with both Donkey and Diddy. A single tire is embedded in the center of the arena.

In the battle, Master Necky's head emerges at a random height from either the left or right of the screen and spits a coconut at the Kongs. To defeat it, Donkey or Diddy must use the bouncy tire in the middle of the bird's banana lair to jump up to stomp Master Necky's head. After five hits, Master Necky collapses and Donkey Kong recovers a Giant Banana.

Game Boy Advance

In the Game Boy Advance remake, Master Necky is bright red before and after he attacks, becoming temporarily invincible. The Kongs cannot damage him until he spits out a coconut, showing his normal color, but he turns red again as he leaves the screen. A photograph of a Necky can be found by Hand Slapping the tire in the center of the level; the photograph is stored in the scrapbook's fourth page.
