Captain Lou Albano, performing Do the Mario during the end credits of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!

Do the Mario is the ending theme to the The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! (and for that matter, The Legend of Zelda animated series), in which Mario (portrayed by Lou Albano) performs the Mario dance and sings a song to the tune of the Super Mario Bros. Ground Theme, explaining how to do the aforementioned dance and stumbling at the end. This plays during the credits to every episode. The phrase "Do the Mario!" was also said at the end of most live action segments, by the Mario Bros. and sometimes the celebrity guest star.

Lyrics

Note that the lines in red are not played in the final recording and were discovered in an eBay auction in May 2019.[1] Additionally, lines in blue are not present in the extended lyrics sheet. The lyrics sheet also replaces both instances of "go" with "dance."

Do the Mario!
Swing your arms from side to side
Come on, it's time to go!
Do the Mario!
Take one step, and then again
Let's do the Mario, all together now!
You got it!
It's the Mario!
Come on now, just like this!
Zap to the right and jump,
Zap to the left and jump,
Zap to the front and jump,
All turn around and jump.
Again!

Do the Mario!

Swing your arms from side to side
Come on, it's time to go!
Do the Mario!
Take one step, and then again
Let's do the Mario, all together now!
You got it!
It's the Mario!

Come on now, just like that!
