The Black Dog is one of the nine items that can be purchased from the Item Shop in the Game Boy Advance game Wario Land 4. The Black Dog, like all the other items, can be purchased from the shop owner, to assist Wario defeat a challenging boss by doing pre-damage at the battles start. It is one of the stronger items in the game, and it costs ten medals to purchase. Depending on the game mode, it may cost more. When purchased, the shop owner will follow the player to the boss room. She will then transform into a black dog with a fairly large jaw, and bite the boss. After the damage has been dealt, the shop owner will then disappear, leaving Wario to fight a greatly weakened boss.
