Template:Levelbox Giant Skewer Tower (Giant Spike Pillar Tower in the PAL version) or Sparkling Waters-Tower, is the Tower course of Sparkling Waters in New Super Mario Bros. U. It is unlocked via Tropical Refresher, and completing the Tower unlocks Haunted Shipwreck, and a cutscene of Peach's Castle being completely shrouded in Magikoopa's tornado. However, the cutscene does play if Freezing-Rain Tower is completed beforehand.
Layout
Similarly to World 4-Castle of New Super Mario Bros. Wii, this is a water course filled with Skewers. The first part of the Tower is underwater, and the most prominent obstacle are Skewers which thrust forward periodically. Dry Bones are the only enemies in the Tower.
Another Boom Boom is the boss of the tower. Magikoopa flies in and give him the ability to jump. Unlike in the second round, however, this Boom Boom keeps his spin attack, even after getting stomped on.
Star Coins
- Star Coin 1: Where the first Skewer is, the player must go to the wall on the left for the first Star Coin.
- Star Coin 2: The player must use the Note Block to reach the second Star Coin in the air.
- Star Coin 3: Same as Star Coin 2, only this one is above a Skewer. The Star Coin can also be obtained via POW Block.
