Template:Levelbox Rickety Race is the nineteenth level of Donkey Kong Land 2, and also the fourth area of Krazy Kremland, the fourth world of the game.

This is an amusement park-themed roller coaster level that allows the Kongs to race in a Roller Coaster against five Klanks. If the primates win, they will be awarded a DK Coin, however, it is completely optional if the player does not want to complete the game 100%. Apart from Klanks, a lone Zinger stands at the end of the level.

Level layout

Rickety Race
Diddy Kong pursues a Klank.

The level begins on a wooden platform with a track near it. A Roller Coaster is on this track with a few bananas above it. Once it is jumped on, the cart begins to move along the track, going up and down two hills. A Klank appears after the second hill that the Kongs must past to gain fifth place. A gap follows this area. The heroes drive down a large hill from here and then approach another gap that they must cross to reach another large hill. Once they ride over the raised piece of the track, another Klank appears if they have already defeated the first Klank. If it is passed, the primates earn fourth place. A hill and a small drop are ahead of here. The letter O is in the middle of the drop. After this, the Kongs head up some hills and cross a single gap on the way. Another gap is reached after they ride up and down a few more hills. The third Klank can be spotted from this point if the others have been defeated. Passing it puts the Kongs in third place. As the primates head up a hill in this area, they approach two gaps.

Once they cross the gaps, they reach another drop. When the Roller Coaster lands on the separate track, it rides up a small hill and passes the letter N. Another hill follows this hill, but a gap is at the top of it for the heroes to cross. A Klank appears at this point if all others have been defeated. The Kongs can claim second place from it. Once the primates ride up and down a few more hills, they reach yet another abyss, which has the fifth and final Klank after it. As they chase this Klank, they ride down a large hill with the letter G above it. A small gap and more hills are ahead of here. Once they ride up and down all the raised pieces of the track, they come up to a Zinger by a wooden platform. A sign that makes the Roller Coaster disappear is on this platform. A spring can also be found here. When they bounce on it, they complete the level.

Secrets

K-O-N-G Letters

Rickety Race
Diddy Kong earns a DK Coin for coming in first place.
  • K: The Kongs can find the letter K shortly after the first Klank appears.
  • O: A small drop with the letter O in it is right after the second Klank.
  • N: The letter N is after the third Klank. It can be found on the way up a hill after the second drop.
  • G: The letter G is on the way down a hill after the last Klank.

Bonus Level

At the beginning of the level, there is a small platform with a banana. If the player team jumps twice, then uses Dixie Kong to fly, the player can reach the only bonus level on this stage.

DK Coin

  • The DK Coin for this level can be found almost exactly how it is found in Donkey Kong Country 2: The Kongs must defeat all five Klanks and come in first place. If the final Klank is passed, the coin appears at the end of the level next to the spring.
