Sandbag is a living punching bag in Super Smash Bros. Melee. His only purpose is to be hit by others. The player must try to hit him as far as possible using a Homerun Bat. Fortunately, attacking him doesn't hurt him: he actually enjoys it. Sandbag has been confirmed to return in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, with a similar role. During the Wi-Fi connection mode, when players are waiting for the game to load, or if they are waiting for other players to connect, they are able to practice their fighting skills on Sandbag, being able to attack him on the waiting screen.
Sandbag bears a definite resemblance to the Longator, an enemy from Super Paper Mario, although this is most likly a coincidence.
Trophy Information
Sandbag exists for one reason only: to get smashed in the Home-Run Contest. Pound on Sandbag as much as possible in the time allotted, then swing for the fences as you compete for the longest home run of all time. Getting hit doesn't hurt Sandbag at all. As a matter of fact, it loves to see players wind up and let loose.
