A steak is a boss enemy in Paper Mario: Color Splash. It requires to be defeated in three turns. Due to the unconventional method in fighting it, it lacks any HP, nor can it be damaged.

History

After Mario substituted for the head chef for Tangerino Grill due to the latter being left severely injured by a troupe of Shy Guy malcontents making mischief in the kitchen area and prepares Mamma Mia Pizza for the patrons, an anonymous VIP demands to be fed. Mario then proceeded to arrive at the VIP's area. The VIP, while obscured by drapes, then demands for Mario to prepare him something delicious, and tossed him a massive steak for him to "get started." Mario ultimately manages to prepare the steak to its optimum primacy and fed it to the VIP. The VIP was very impressed by his preparations, and then left, leaving a piece of the Orange Big Paint Star nearby where he once was.

Battle

As noted above, the fight against the steak is very unconventional, as the player has to defeat the steak within three turns, and the player cannot actually damage the steak at all.

The player can only "beat" the steak in the following manner: The player needs to tenderize the steak with a hammer (doing so will have the steak being bent out of shape), then seasoned by using the Salt and Pepper thing card (this will have bits of pepper and salt being visible on the steak), grilled evenly via the grill thing card (this will have it given a slightly toasted appearance, and if done correctly will have it dance a jig), adding Lemon Juice via the Lemons thing card (unlike the prior steps, this does not give any cosmetic alterations to the steak), and then skipping the next turn.

The steak, in turn, can attack Mario during this time. It attacks with a lower jab, which will cost 12 HP if it connects, a roundhouse kick that will cost 18 HP if connected, a double slap, costing 8 HP each slap, and a body slam, which will cost 14 HP when connected.
