A "Religon" in Super Paper Mario
After you read this, please do not insult my beliefs or what I said, this is what I feel, and I want to see if anyone else agrees.
I know it is just a game, but it seems that the new Paper Mario game seems to introduce somewhat of a religon into the Mario universe. Of the many reasons that keep me from playing it, i.e. Peach marrying Bowser, this is the one that troubles me the most. After research through this site and others, I have come to conclude that this is a very dark game filled with romance, prophesy, and other sinister elements. As a strong Christian, I feel that some of the key elements in the story are a little anti-religous to my faith. The "chosen one", the Dark Prophecy book, the revenge of that Bleck guy (in which he destroys his own species), the reincarnation of the same character, and the entire reason Mario is fighting for, makes me feel very uneasy and worried. As I can recall, Pokemon went the same direction, complete with a starting myth similer to the Creation described in the Bible, right down to "in the beginning..."! Pokemon's newest game, Diamond and Pearl, have completely destroyed all of my enjoyment in the series. Now, Mario threatens to do the same thing. I have loved Mario since I was four years old, and I simply do not want to give up my enjoyment of one of the greatest franchises the world has ever seen.
Can anyone explain why so many great game series have taken such a dark path? Is it because the public demands dark games with a religon of its own? I can remember the days when game universes did not need an explanation of how they came to be, when kindness and good behavior represented the forces of good, and the evil was not as "bad" as they are now. Just look at Bowser; he actually has a hint of mercy and kindness, compared to the much more evil creatures of today. To me, this story of revenge, prophecy, the chosen one, and the ultimate defeat in love seem like they were pulled directly out of an anime series.
This so-called "children's game" has implications, themes, and a plot similar to the Second Coming of Christ (Revelation), complete with Heaven and its opposite, as well as a foretold prophecy, doomsday/apocalypse, and the ultimate victory of good. Even though this game has a happy ending, I still really dislike it. If it was up to me, this game would have had an ESRB rating of T. Just think about it. If I played Mario since I was four, imagine what the young children intereasted in Mario today would see.
To sum it up, Mario is not the same loveable game series as it used to be...

Sigh...
Super Paper Mario is still for the GameCube! At least, that's what ALL the game sites I've been to say. Should we wait awhile for a confirmation, or go ahead and add it to the Cube games section?!? 3dejong
- Nintendo may or may not have updated its site to reflect a change to the Wii. I'd wait for a confirmation. Wayoshi ( T·C·@ ) 15:55, 10 October 2006 (EDT)
Mummy?
From the picture in Nintendo power i wouldnt say that he is a mummy but rather a ninja type fellow with a white face and wierd arms.--Widkid85 18:19, 11 March 2007 (EDT)
New Story Info
Read if you're a PM fan like me! Wa TC@Y 22:33, 24 March 2007 (EDT)
Wayoshi, don't post stuff like this, you know that... You didn't post it to help further the wiki.... That's not very Gavin-like.SaudyTalk!
Preorders?
Anybody preordered this game? I preordered it yesterday, and can't wait to have it. Just a curiosity question. --General Kelty 23:30, 26 March 2007 (EDT)
New video good quality video!

And with that, poof, I'm gone! --Bentendo 18:02, 29 March 2007 (EDT)
enemy section?
im thinking that someone should add an enemy section to the super paper mario article.........cuz i know ALOT of enemies from the videos like the jawbus, squiglets, and gromebas NintendoFan 20:46, 1 April 2007 (EDT)
Jester-like creature: enemy or boss?
I saw on http://www.gamesradar.com/us/wii/game/reviews/article.jsp?articleId=20070330102557989000§ionId=1000&pageId=20070330103441328028 (in a video) that there is a place with very many Jester-like creatures (Like the Dull Bones and Smorgs). Thus they are enemies. And I saw on the official japanese site in the story that there is only one.

- I'm pretty sure he's a boss, especially if his name really is Dimentio (someone posted the boss list on GameFAQs). The hundreds and hundreds of him is probably just a move he does in the game. UrsulaBoi 13:29, 7 April 2007 (EDT)
- Either way, all we have to do is wait a couple of days and we'll find out. No need to rush information when it is so close to our fingers.--General Kelty 17:48, 7 April 2007 (EDT)
Ownership
Who (managed) to get this game today? Max2 14:15, 9 April 2007 (EDT)
I'm so bummed. They were sold out. I should have preordered it. =[ Phoenix Rider
I wanted it, but even without it, we can make the articles present tense.SaudyTalk!
I was asking so someone who HAS it could add more info. Max2 (talk)
I got it today, I'm on chapter 2. :) I'll try to add more info to character profiles and such (already made Mimi and King Croacus). UrsulaBoi 18:03, 10 April 2007 (EDT)
- I've had it since yesterday; I'll start contributing after I've played more of it. --General Kelty 22:56, 10 April 2007 (EDT)
Gonna get it tommorow. 22:53, 12 April 2007 (EDT)
Players guide
Does someone have the PG? I can't get it 'cause I live in the Netherlands. You can pre-order it at http://www.nintendopower.com.FH
I just pre-ordered it at ebay, I think i will get it within 2 weeks. FH
- I have it. Silent but deadly! SuperLuigi821 You lost everything. Way to go genious.
- Great! Scan the picture in it of Queen Jaydes! I would, but I'm overly protective of mine... Got mine the day after SPM came out. ^_^ Didn't use it until I beat the game, though.

- Sigh...if my scanner was working...BTW the picture of Jaydes in Page 96 would come out TOO JPGish. Maybe there's a picture of her somewhere on the net. I may be wrong. Silent but deadly! SuperLuigi821 You lost everything. Way to go genious.
- Drat, I was afraid of that... Hopefully. Not much appears to be updated with SPM art, though... Maybe if there is art of Queen Jaydes, there may be art of King Grambi? Wasn't in the guide, but there's a chance...--Dreyfus2006 14:19, 2 June 2007 (EDT)
Beaten
I'm sure I'm not the first person, but now at least I can answer questions for you guys.

- Does Yoshi ever appear in the game. Talk
- I think I beat the game two weeks ago or something. But no, with the exception of a Catch Card Yoshi makes no appearance whatsoever (and that Catch Card is just the Yoshi Kid). Otherwise, there isn't even a cameo.--Dreyfus2006 23:09, 7 May 2007 (EDT)
Could you add information to Soccer Brother ?
When editing about this game be sure to mark your spoilers carefully. Wa TC@Y 16:13, 13 April 2007 (EDT)
Yoshi doesn't appear in the game, but a rock that looks like him does, and references to Yoshi's Island are made in the Sammer Kingdom.
The preceding unsigned comment was added by Forai (talk).
I saw that in the Player's Guide. Also a Yoshi kid card can be catched and Yoshi Kid dolls appear. Paper Jorge (Talk·Contribs)
Meowmaids and Meowbombs
I can't find a picture of meowmaids (the others were actually meowbombs, not meowmaids), can someone tell me a good site for game screenshots? Bean
Good resource for Paper Mario item pics
I found a place with pics of all of the items in the Paper Mario games. If you want to see go here (most are from Paper Mario one and two, )Bean
I'll just point out that Badges uses these images from both PM games. Wa TC@Y 19:57, 27 April 2007 (EDT)

Since the item list was missing most of the items, I have added everything except for the Recipes. ~ LordKenny
Audience
Ha ha, very funny. The Audience appeared in ttyd to, ya know. Full Metal Moogle
- The article would be split of course Isyou. ;) -- Son of Suns
Oh... never thought of that. Good point, I guess... Full Metal Moogle
Even still, I find that it merits its own article. A Link to the Past has been acting very "funny", though. YELLOWYOSHI398
he is just very strict that things be perfect around here. Full Metal Moogle
Guys, he does have valid points. You don't have to agree with them, but he is working to make the wiki better. -- Son of Suns
- It's a game mechanic. If it's separate, TTYD won't be featured because the content is not included. If you basically have the audience mentioned in both the Audience article and the TTYD article, then it's duplicate content and there is no point in having an article. - A Link to the Past 22:34, 7 May 2007 (EDT)
- I think The Audience article should remain seperate, for it's own sake. - Smashgoom202 15:04, 8 May 2007 (EDT)
- This is exactly what I talk about when I say "separating articles makes two inferior articles, while keeping them together makes one greater article". And in this case, the Audience is just a gameplay feature of these two games, and separating them just damages the more important articles. - A Link to the Past 15:21, 8 May 2007 (EDT)
- I think The Audience article should remain seperate, for it's own sake. - Smashgoom202 15:04, 8 May 2007 (EDT)
Hey, guys. I just want to say that the audience had nothing to do with the gameplay of Super Paper Mario. They just came whenever the players did stylish moves. Nothing else. No helping, no hindering. They were only paper cut-outs anyway! Oh, and by the way, I have another topic on the "Whose Better..." section of my userpage, in case anyone's interested.
They increased the amount of points you gained in Super paper Mario, I call that affecting gameplay. -- Sir Grodus
Arcade Mini-Games
Shouldn't there be a section that mentions the Arcade Mini Games you can play in this game? Bean 20:23, 3 June 2007 (EDT) PS, I found a pic of the Arcade in SPM.
