A Haunted Lantern is an enemy that appears in Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, and Super Paper Mario. The Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Paper Mario incarnations are similar, but the Super Mario Land 2 incarnation is wildly different.
In Super Mario Land 2, they reside in the Pumpkin Zone. As their name suggests, they resemble lanterns. Their attack method involves them sticking out their lethal tongues.
In Super Paper Mario, they appear solely in Merlee's Basement.
