Chakron is the third Star Sage and guardian of the last Star Cure in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. When Bowser first discovers Chakroads, Chakron (albeit unseen) explains them to Bowser. Later on in the game, when Mario and Luigi are searching for the Star Cures, they find Chakron atop a mountain, meditating. He explains that he has frozen in a pose for 1,000 years, gathering knowledge from the stars. He offers them the third Star Cure if they can use an attack that would shake the ground and break his pose. During his explanation, Luigi humorously tries to imitate his pose, but falls over. He then tries to tickle Chakron, to the annoyance of the latter. Template:Bisenemy At first, Mario and Luigi battle him. After three turns, the match is ended and Chakron becomes disappointed. He tells the Bros. that there is an attack in the wood that will free him of his pose. Mario and Luigi then learn Snack Basket in Dimble Wood and use it in battle against Chakron. The Bros. would need to get an Excellent in order to win the battle. When Snack Basket is used, Chakron will flip out of control and fall back on the ground. He will then slither towards the edge and fall off.

Fortunately, he survives and he finds a new pose that satisfies him, which he plans to hold for another 100 years. Chakron then awards Mario and Luigi the last Star Cure. He then offers to teleport the brothers back to Toad Town.

Chakron's last appearance is at the ending of the game. After Peach's cake is shown, Chakron's mysterious voice appears, congratulating the player. Then their Ranks will be shown.

Trivia

• Chakron's star cure is the only one Mario and Luigi gain outside of Bowser's body.
• With 9,999 HP and 999 POW, DEF and SPEED, Chakron is actually the strongest boss in the game and even the entire Mario series. However, Chakron does not attack and cannot be defeated, as his battle will end immediately when a perfect Snack Basket is performed. As such, the title of the game's strongest boss is awarded to Bowser X, and the boss with the most EXP is the Dark Star.
• Other than Scutlet, Chakron is the only required boss Mario and Luigi face that does not reappear in The Gauntlet.
• After he is defeated, the Mario Bros. can go back to Chakron's location to be launched to Toad Town again.
• Chakron is the only boss that the player is allowed to flee from.
• As his post-boss battle dialogue heavily implies, Chakron is the one who keeps the Chakroad used to aid Bowser.
