Noko Bombette from Super Mario Land 2.

A Nokobon is a black Koopa-like creature found in the game Super Mario Land. Nokobons explode shortly after being stomped. They have bombs as shells, hence the explosion. They replace Koopa Troopas in Super Mario Land, as it would've taken longer to program the richochet effects of Koopa shells on the Game Boy. They are called Nokobons in the US due to poor localization, as Super Mario Land was rushed to the US to be sold with the Game Boy.

A different type of Nokobon appears in Super Mario Land 2. In this game, they're called Noko Bombettes.
