DK Kongs is team lead by Donkey Kong in the game Mario Superstar Baseball. Its additional names are the DK Explorers, DK Wild Ones, and DK Animals. The Sub-Captain, Diddy Kong's, team names are Diddy Survivors, Diddy Ninjas, Diddy Tails, or Diddy Red Caps. The team has set players in Challenge Mode, but the players can be chosen while in Exhibition Mode. If the team is faced by another opponent, they will verse them in the Donkey Kong Jungle stadium.

Team Members

The DK Kongs have the most widespread team in the game. They have two Koopa Troopa's, two Koopa Paratroopa's, both the Goomba's (Goomba and Paragoomba), and three different, notable primates (Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, and Dixie Kong). The DK Kongs team marked Dixie Kong's first appearance in any traditional Mario game. Dixie Kong is also the unlockable of the team, unlocked by defeating Challenge Mode as the DK Kongs.

The team reappeared in Mario Super Sluggers, now known as the DK Wilds and its home stadium is DK Jungle. The DK Wilds is primarily composed of Donkey Kong and some of the Kong family members. Almost all the Kongs share good chemistry with each other. However, in an ironic twist, the team is also composed of King K. Rool and four Kritters, who all have bad chemistry with the Kongs. Baby DK is also compatible with other teams, such as the Yoshi Eggs, where he shows good chemistry with all the Yoshis.

Trivia

  • DK Kongs is named after Donkey Kong.
  • DK Explorers is derived from Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong's habit of exploring.
  • DK Wild Ones comes from Donkey Kong being wild.
  • DK Animals derives from the Kongs, and their Animal Buddies being animals.
  • Diddy Monkeys comes from the species that the Kongs are.
  • In Mario Super Sluggers, almost all the team members of the DK Wilds are left-handed batters and right-handed fielders. The only team members who do not follow that routine are Funky Kong and King K. Rool; they're both right-handed batters and left-handed fielders.
