Battle Course 1 was the very first battle course to be introduced in the entire Mario Kart series. It originated from Super Mario Kart. It seems to take place somewhere within the borders of Donut Plains. It is a square-shaped course with some multi colored walls. The aim is to hit the opponent three times with items to get rid of the three rotating things around each player.

- Unlike later Mario Kart battles, This is the only mode. Which is similar to balloon battle in later games, but is a little different.
