A Nokobon is a black Koopa-like creature found in the game Super Mario Land. Nokobons explode shortly after being stomped and are immune to superballs. They have bombs as shells, implying that they may be related to Bob-ombs. Luckily, the blast radius was not so large. They replace Koopa Troopas in Super Mario Land, as it would've taken longer to program the richochet effects of Koopa shells on the Game Boy. They are worth 100 points to kill. Nokobons are the most common enemy in the game, appearing in all levels besides the last one. Nokobons resemble ordinary Koopa Troopas with a black shell. It is widely believed that the Black Shells from Mario Kart Arcade GP are in fact Nokobon shells.
