How do we know the green Toad in SMO is him? In the Lost Kingdom, there's an additional blue Toad, who can't be the same as Hint Toad due to him being otherwise present and the additional one lacking glasses, not to mention the fact that there seems to be three Yellow and Purple Toads to man the shops in the Lost, Mushroom, and Moon Kingdoms. As such, I don't think we can say that any other than Captain Toad, Hint Toad, and Toadette in that game are intended to be the same. The best case one could make is that rigging the pipe in Bowser's Kingdom might have required digging. If the toads couldn't switch kingdoms at the same time as Mario, then how would Captain Toad be in (almost) every kingdom? 173.28.188.39 16:09, October 9, 2022 (EDT) | |||
This has a talk template so I guess it still needs resolution. SMO's recurring NPCs can only remotely logically function if they all can move at the speed of Mario. Everyone is in the same place where Mario is at all times, be they Sphynx or Peach or Hint Toad or Captain Toad or Talkatoo or the Broodals or Pauline (Darker Side), because this is a video game and they have to be where the player is. It doesn't even matter how Mario's traveling: apparently airships are as fast if not faster than warping through a painting. Therefore given this, presented with two characters that look identical without names that have been given names in the past, it is a reasonable result that "moves at the speed of plot" applies to them as well. Therefore making it entirely possible that the Green Toads in explorer gear in each Kingdom is just Banktoad jumping around to be wherever the player is under the same rules Peach can. Non-SMG2 Appearances[edit]
Why is there information on games where he isn't named? If he isn't named, how do we know it's not just a random green Toad? Phoenix Rider 22:49, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
There is no proof its the same toad we just assume that.--Its-a-meYoshi!
- See Talk:Toad Brigade - this debate is currently going on again. I think it may have to be settled the same way as Birdo's gender. Marioguy1 (talk)

Relating to the above, but later[edit]
How do we know the green Toad in SMO is him? As such, I don't think we can say that any other than Captain Toad, Hint Toad, and Toadette in that game are intended to be the same. If the toads couldn't switch kingdoms at the same time as Mario, then how would Captain Toad be in (almost) every kingdom? 173.28.188.39 16:09, October 9, 2022 (EDT)
