If the user entered a birth date that took place either prior to the first game or after the last game, the "''Your timeline starts here!''" marker would be at the corresponding year. If the user chooses a birth date that is before the release of the first game, the marker will be labeled accordingly based on the birth date they chose, yet it will immediately skip ahead to the release of ''Super Mario Bros.'' afterward. If the user chooses a birth date that is after the last game, the marker will be placed accordingly, yet the timeline will end at the marker. If the user's birth date is simply sometime after the release of the first game, the marker will be placed at whatever place on the timeline the user specified, and each game released prior would be marked as however many "''years older than you!''" As the page was released on the Nintendo UK website, the games use their European release dates.

Functionality[edit]

The beginning of My Mario Timeline, with the user's birth date set to 1985

My Mario Timeline allowed the user to enter a birth date anywhere from 1900 to the current year, and it then showed the user their age when certain games of the Super Mario franchise were released, beginning with Super Mario Bros. in 1987 and ending with New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe in 2019. The page also allowed the user to click on each game to read a short informational paragraph about it. If the user entered a birth date that took place either prior to the first game or after the last game, the "Your timeline starts here!" marker would be at the corresponding year. If the user chooses a birth date that is before the release of the first game, the marker will be labeled accordingly based on the birth date they chose, yet it will immediately skip ahead to the release of Super Mario Bros. afterward. If the user chooses a birth date that is after the last game, the marker will be placed accordingly, yet the timeline will end at the marker. If the user's birth date is simply sometime after the release of the first game, the marker will be placed at whatever place on the timeline the user specified, and each game released prior would be marked as however many "years older than you!" As the page was released on the Nintendo UK website, the games use their European release dates.
