The Alternate Canon Solution

I think I have a solution! Check out MarioWiki talk:Canonicity. The basic idea is this: we please discrete templates in the article that can be opened to reveal the sections on alternate canon sources, but those who don't want to read them will not have to open them. I was looking at what you said about Bowser FA oppose and , if you ask me, a section for Baby Bowser's role in Yoshi Island DS is not needed. Sigs on Proposals Page

Hi! Thanks for spotting all the sigs on the Proposals page. But could you please, instead of pointing to it, simply correct them? This saves time and space, and we can avoid archiving comments like "please don't sign with ~~~~" when they have nothing to do with the actual proposal. Eh, what's up doc? I looked at your userbox and I had recently been thinking that Bowser needs his own game, too! In this game, he should destroy the Mario bros., marry peach... again, and take over the world! Then, it all turns out just to be the King Koopa's dream!  :) WK

Well, yes a dream has already been used (Super Mario bros. 2). If Bowser defended his kingdom from a new threat, wouldn't that make him heroic if the threat is yet another greater villain? I personally perfer Bowser as a villain than a hero. I say the game (which will probably never happen) should be what I already said, but instead of a dream, it should that time resets so the events of the game never happen. Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 is an example, although this may cause Nintendo to get sued by Sega. By the way, why don't you like Mario? WK

Mario & Luigi's Parents

Hey, Walkazo. The other sysops and I were discussing the canon situation, and some ideas came up that were like yours for Mario & Luigi's Parents: divide by series. So, it would be something likes this:

• Intro
  • Appearances in Television
    • Super Mario Bros. Super Show
    • References in Adventures of SMB3 and Super Mario World
  • Appearances in Comics
    • Nintendo Comics System
      • Family Album: The Early Years
      • Club Nintendo Reference (scrubbing toilets)
  • Appearances in Video Games
    • Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island
    • References in Mario Kart: Double Dash!

It's the general consensus that such a format would be good on all articles because it does not imply a canon and also does not follow the backless assumptions of MarioWiki:Chronology, only those that we know to be true (ie SMW2 happening before SMB or Family Album: The Early Years taking place prior to the rest of the Valient Comics). Anyway, congratulations on coming up with this idea (I introduced it to them) - hopefully we'll see these changes come into effect soon. I think Mario and Luigi's Parents should be one of the first articles to get this treatment when the idea passes. Stumpers! 22:23, 16 September 2008 (EDT)

Definitely! I think I may have forgotten to mention this: we're gonna be sorting by video game series as well, so Paper Mario and Super Mario 64 will no longer be in the same section. I'm trying to create a way for users to still be able to go through the articles in MarioWiki:Canonicity order if they wish through links to other sections of the articles, but I'm still waiting for feedback from the other sysops. Oh, don't worry. It's all part of compromise - and I hope we do find one soon. :3 Anyway, I think that the "all games are created equal" idea is going to be reflected in the new organization... I hope. The idea was that all the Paper Marios would be together, all the Super Marios would be together, all the Mario vs. Donkey Kongs would be together, etc. The only games that would not be in series sections would be ones like Mario Pinball Land, which are not part of the series, and they'd be in a section called "Single Installments" rather than something like "Other Games." The whole idea here is to accept the fact that to put everything together is speculation and work to find an order that does not follow speculation on any level. As it currently stands, what we're following is MarioWiki:Chronology combined with division by media, which while very airtight and probably the closest we'll ever get to the storyline in Miyamoto's head, is still speculation. Tell you what, I'll do up a mock-up before this goes into effect (though proposal or otherwise... hopefully through proposal, I'm not one for "administration without representation", so to speak) and show it to you. Shhhhhhhhh... (again! Since my IE7 crashed while typing this out, I'd forced myself to rewrite it again) Though I'm extensively working on stuff from school, I still plan ahead to support the wiki from crumbling into fallen deathly pieces. For instance, I'd work on creating new things with the devious wiki sytax for great goodness and help inproving the stuff that goes around the wiki, like the help section and templates themselves, after I admittedly finish on my own wiki project myself that's kep secret. >:) So techinally while I'm still working on stuff from school, I peek over the wiki to see the situation myself. :P RAP... What's the next crazy thing? Staying in water in over 15 minutes, which Magic Johnson just broke the record months ago!

Well, I'm all for listening this lawl. But rawr, I'm going to be completely away from this wiki this Saturday, Oct. 4 due to a field trip I have now. Same thing to me, I didn't EVEN know Google until later in the recent years of using computers. Yes, the internet in my young times is slow, because of the limited access of the former service Netzero. I wanna return to the past and refix this before it's too-- oh noez, it is too late! The first table coding I made to make it better is n00bish. :< But yeah, I work on fixing my own problems, my own articles some people wouldn't particularly bother yet abnormally another way to become a sysop. XD Take the AD Sightings lawl. What's next... fixing the help section... or creating and expanding those mini-game articles I'd do from that last year in the early days of my entering... DP says I'm flamming him, but it feels like he's flaming me. The two love topics is part of the reason that abruptly twists my brain into thinking that he's flaming me. And about the parent conferences, it turns out only Thursday (or Friday) is the real time for the event to begin. The real reason that DP is confused by my sentences is myself going further in English class, thus actually helping the wiki as I rewrite even my own articles. ;D Compare the left side to the right side. Way longer, though partially it's because of the minigame-infobox entry. ^_^;; In my 8th grade, I have vastly improved myself with giant proportions of vocabulary words and improved my writing skills. Will see about that expansion of that article. (folds arms, makes a creepy grin) My current wiki project is to actually rewrite one of the oldest mini-game articles I'd ever written before the greatest revamp of my brain considers a tuneup for my literature area of my mind. :3 Mini-games from Mario Party to Mario Party 3. An estimation of 150 articles, bear with the writing despite the fact it took an hour to rewrite an article due to that I have to play those mini-games over, and over again just to get the right tone to successfully write a fresh article. OK Walkazo, I'll try. (tries getting his overactive imagination under control with brutal results) XP ! Notes? I once did that technique, actually it may have saved me a load of booty full of time. Use the time to write notes while playing the game when not using the computer, instead of both. Per this sentence of your last statement and a certain sentence that I've recovered from my brain, it's during when Son of Suns and I talked each other before he went away. Take notes in a notebook. :3 (searches some remaining notes in his binder) Hm, it seems I wrote the notes about the two articles that I previously tried to work on, but took simplistically forever. That would be why I was formerly a spy in my past that includes but not limited to the chatroom and the wiki. Aw, I hope for my wishes for you to overcome these obstacles to transfer your files, computer problems, and others especially for that recent computer crash, it has been fun talking to you. Before you say anything at this point, I will make my first action... Well, I have heard a conflict about you. There are two sides of the story, DP, and you. I heard that you are really (as described by Mr. DP) "sick and tired of me "hitting" on you whenever I seem to talk to you". Despite my attraction to dragons, similarly you, this is said from you whenever you and DP talk each other in PM. If this is true, then I will announce to you that I will leave you alone for a long time, as if I can't even look at you at this moment...
