World 4-3 (Chapter 4-3 in Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic; titled Cross the Ocean and Move Up[1]) is the third level of World 4 in Super Mario Bros. 2.
Layout[edit]
Pink Birdo is seen as a seemingly normal enemy early in level, and reappears after being defeated whenever the player reenters the room it is in. This allows it to be defeated an infinite number of times for a massive amount of points in Super Mario Advance. The actual purpose of this out-of-place Birdo is for the player to ride on one of its eggs across the otherwise impassable ocean to reach the main dungeon where Fryguy's lair is located.
The player can skip directly to Fryguy's lair by using Luigi or Princess Toadstool to jump across a gap between the first and second towers, then go into the door of the third tower.

Trivia[edit]
- In the Super Mario All-Stars version, if this Birdo is hit by a large vegetable during its last hit upon defeat, the sound effect of an object appearing will play, even though it does not spit out anything.
- The original PRG0 revision of the North American release of Super Mario Bros. 2 has a bug where Small Fry Guys could be defeated as a normal enemy (flipping off the screen, instead of disappearing in a puff of smoke) if the player did so while powering down. This results in the game thinking that there are still Small Fry Guys left, and thus the player would not be able to proceed to the next level as the exit door does not appear. This bug was fixed in the PRG1 revision, which also served as a base version for the European and Super Mario USA releases.
