Flowers[1] appear in Donkey Kong 3 as objects in all of Stanley's greenhouses (blue, gray, and yellow). Flowers start off as Sprouts before becoming Buds in the next stage and finally Blooms[2] and remain so even after the game loops back to the first round. Buzzbees and Butterflies try to steal Stanley's flowers, requiring Stanley to defeat them with his Sprayer. If a Buzzbee or Butterfly grabs a flower and feeds it to Donkey Kong, it becomes a Super Bee. If a flower is lost, it is replaced by a Sprout in the following stage. Each surviving flower is worth 500 points. 2,000 perfect bonus points are also awarded, but only if all five flowers survive after a level is completed. This rises to 5,000 perfect bonus points if all the flowers are Blooms. In the Family Computer and NES version, all flowers start off as fully bloomed and the perfect bonus is 3,000 points.
