Once the player saves the mice, they cheer and the cat angrily smacks the floor. However, the cat is looking at a mouse when the player lifts the Joy-Con, the former will grab the latter, and the microgame concludes in a loss. The player must save the mice when the cat is not looking at them to win the microgame. In levels 1 and 2, one Form Stone has a bell that can be used to distract the cat.
