The Way of the Shell is the twenty-eighth course in the Story Mode of Super Mario Maker 2. It is set in the ground theme for its main area and the underground theme for its sub-area, as well as in the Super Mario Bros. style. It is posted by Fired-Up Announcer, and has a difficulty rating of 2/4 stars.

Layout

The level begins with five Warp Pipes.

The leftmost Warp Pipe leads to an area where Mario must kick a Buzzy Shell across a zigzagging path, hitting an ON/OFF Switch at the appropriate times so that the shell will bound off the blocks and grab the first Pink Coin.

The left-center Warp Pipe leads to an area where Mario must again kick a Buzzy Shell across a zigzagging path, hitting an ON/OFF Switch at the appropriate times so that the shell does not fall into pits on its way to the second Pink Coin.

The center Warp Pipe leads to yet another area where Mario must kick a Buzzy Shell, though this time the time window in which to hit the ON/OFF Switch is much narrower than before.

The right-center Warp Pipe leads to still another area in which Mario must kick a Buzzy Shell, though now there are Brick Blocks that potentially throw off the timing of when the ON/OFF Switch needs to be hit.

The rightmost Warp Pipe leads to one more area in which Mario must kick a Buzzy Shell, though now he must pause between hitting the ON/OFF Switch so that the Buzzy Shell gets on all of the lifts at the right time and grabs the final Pink Coin.

Once all Pink Coins are collected, Mario must enter the Key Door and head to the Goal Pole.
