As the Mechakoopas rotate around in circles constantly while moving inside and out, the player tries to find which of them has the key. Mechakoopas can also turn red and breathe fire, stunning the player. If the player fulfills the objective, they win.
The player must [[jump]] on the Mechakoopas to find the one that swallowed the key. The Mechakoopas constantly rotate in a circle and move in and out. Occasionally, they will turn red and breathe fire, and touching the Mechakoopas or their flames when this happens will stun the player temporarily. If the player finds the correct Mechakoopa within 30 seconds, they win.

The ending shows the Mechakoopas fleeing from the arena. If the player has the key, they use it to unlock and exit the large door at the end. Should the player lose, Bowser crushes them, raising a fist afterward.

The surviving Mechakoopas flee into the same door that the one who stole the key fled into and exited with the rest of them at the start. If the player got the key, they run up to the large door at the end of the tunnel and escape by using the key on the door. The player celebrates their victory as this happens. If the player fails to get the key, Bowser crushes the player, laughs, and raises one of his fists in triumph.

Tunnel of Lava! is a single-player Bowser minigame in Mario Party 7.

Overview[edit]

The opening shows a Mechakoopa eating a key, retreating into a door, and several more emerging.
