After procuring the [[Key]] from [[Shivers]] in the [[Butler's Room]], [[Luigi]] gains access to the Conservatory, where he finds many instruments. Checking each instrument causes them to play a part of the ''[[Super Mario Bros.]]'' [[Ground Theme (Super Mario Bros.)|Ground Theme]] until all the instruments play a complete arrangement. Once all the instruments have been checked, [[Melody Pianissima]] appears at her piano, where she asks Luigi one of two trivia questions. When he answers correctly, Melody will send music sheets to attack him. When they are sucked up in the [[Poltergust 3000]], Melody exposes her heart. After Luigi captures Melody, the lights turn on and the [[Key]] to the [[Dining Room (Luigi's Mansion)|Dining Room]] appears.


After procuring the Key from [[Shivers]] in the [[Butler's Room]], Luigi gained access to the Conservatory, where he found many instruments. Sitting at the grand piano was The Beautiful Pianist, [[Melody Pianissima]]. However, she was invisible to Luigi. The plumber, noticed however, that when he tapped the playing instruments, they started playing a song. Melody was impressed with Luigi's "musical talent" and offered to let Luigi hear a song played on her piano. After she played her song, she asked the green-garbed ghost hunter one of two questions. If Luigi answered the question correctly, Melody would fling her sheet music at Luigi. Luigi avoided the projectiles and went straight for Melody herself. With her safely stored inside the [[Poltergust 3000]], the Conservatory brightened and Luigi received the Key to the [[Dining Room]], quite obviously his next destination.
The Conservatory is a music room which houses a variety of musical instruments. The instruments consist of the following: a saxophone, a harp, an upright bass, three kettle drums, a xylophone, and a grand piano. All but the grand piano can be activated, causing a tune to be played.

A grand piano is also present, but unlike the other instruments, it cannot be played. On the very northeast corner of the room there is a small dresser with a flowerpot on top.
