I went ahead and moved this because it's a direct translation and I found no discussion on the subject or objections on the Talk Page, however now apparently I found that it's been listed as "To Be Discussed" on PopitTart's userpage (with no elaboration or seemingly discussion started)which I never in a million years would have thought to check for this kind of thing. Someone can move it back if they want as a result - though I would be deeply curious as to what kind of argument against this name someone could have when Fire Spike is similarly already moved. --[[User:Fun With Despair|Fun With Despair]] ([[User talk:Fun With Despair|talk]]) 11:26, January 10, 2025 (EST)

Just letting you know that "Disaster Cat" is a bad name for this subject, the word "disaster" is used as a prefix to group all "disaster" (aka Bowser's Fury) objects together in relation to the game mode (disasterlightning, disastermodecontroller, disasterspiketorpedo, disasterwallstep, etc), the developers did not give this cat the name "disaster" for flavor reasons. {{User:Ray Trace/sig}} 20:41, January 11, 2025 (EST)
:Considering the lack of specific names for these things, it might make the most sense to just merge them to kittens. ::I'd also merge this with kitten as a kitten variant simply because the lack of a name, plus the context of the file does make it seem like a variant than its own thing. {{User:Ray Trace/sig}} 21:04, January 11, 2025 (EST) |

Fury Bowser and final shine: Fury Cats[edit]
What happens if I've 99 cat shines and only have to collect Fury Cats to get the 100th? It's impossible to get them? LetsPlayNintendoITA (talk) 18:44, March 31, 2021 (EDT)
Official name found[edit]
There is an official name for these evil cats, although it's in Japanese. The Japanese game guide calls them "Kyōbō ni natta neko", which means, "Cat gone berserk". Should we move the title of this page to this name?--24.44.76.88 20:08, May 13, 2021 (EDT)

--Fun With Despair (talk) 11:26, January 10, 2025 (EST)
- The point of the derived names proposal everyone should've been on the same page was to work in basic inference on adjacent subjects so some article titles don't stand out as much. It is not intended to override policy on fan-translation. In this case, there is currently no adjacent subject named "Cat" (although there probably should be). Additionally, there have been some questions on the usage of dev data recently, so even if there were a Bowser's Fury cat article, I'm not sure how viable a rename is at present. - UPDATE: adjacent subject moved. Might as well keep this for now at least. Only other thing was, referencing the internal names of kittens and cats against Disaster Cat, I renamed Disaster Cat and Disaster Cat Parent to Disaster Kitten and Disaster Cat, respectively.
