My idea with the SMB3 static animated BG tiles is to put them consistently on what is considered the "first" frame internally, both for consistency on our end and because for most of them, that corresponds with how they look when a switch is hit and everything stops animating. Now I still have a jillion more assets prepped to upload, I had to stop because I had a headache. :You have been doing good work. My incentive in these articles is to provide a sincere and nice display for users, and whether or not each sprite represents the first frame in an animation is not particularly important to me. My intent is for the reader to understand what it looks like when they read the accompanying text. I will prioritize what I think looks nice as long as it remains an accurate display of what occurs during gameplay, which is why I have things like the Fire Bro spitting a fireball in the table rather than a static image of it still. It is visually a little more dynamic, and it more immediately communicates how it differs from normal Hammer Bros and related enemies. For Jelectro, I just prefer how its tentacles are positioned in the frame. - Nintendo101 (talk) 22:20, February 17, 2025 (EST)

<small><("Who am I?")</small><br>I'd be more cautious about that. Something like "Rolla Koopa" and "Timid Troopa" implies that it has to have some sort of mechanical difference that would need to return in some capacity if that entity were to return that "Pink Koopa" or "Red Troopa" does not. It's really not a 1-1 comparison, and consistently implementing something like that would mean something like Orange Shy Guy would get a page that only covers a few Mario Kart appearances where it has no differences at all. Not to mention Yoshi, Shy Guy, and others are already riddled with ambiguities from Blue/Light-Blue, Light-Blue/White, Orange/Yellow/Brown, and others simply because everyone sees edge cases differently. Implementing this would just mean those edge case inconsistencies would appear in even more places. Not to mention how Pink Shy Guy keeps being replaced with Blue Shy Guy, both in SMB2 and in the Yoshi series, but of course covering them on the same page would also mean covering pink and blue together on sports games where they appear at the same time. Really, I think a gallery page for different colors is enough, because there's just too many cases like that and nowhere near the amount of consistency present to make the pros outweigh the cons - the way I see it, there are very few of the former and an overwhelming multitude of the latter. : | :I am still working on the proposal. Folks are more than welcomed to voice their opinions when it is published. Something I would like to stress is the the crux of this proposal is this principal: If an enemy subject is differentiated by color in its published name, it warrants receiving a dedicated article <u>only if it is also accompanied by behavioral or mechanical differences, RPG statistics, or comparable attributes that affect gameplay. If color is the only differentiating attribute of the subject, creating a dedicated article for it is discouraged.</u> If a subject is only differentiated from a parent by color with no accompanying differences at all, it is not necessary for it to receive an article of its own.

I know missions from the mainline Super Mario games are now formatted in quotes, since your proposal passed. I'd be more cautious about that. Something like "Rolla Koopa" and "Timid Troopa" implies that it has to have some sort of mechanical difference that would need to return in some capacity if that entity were to return that "Pink Koopa" or "Red Troopa" does not. - I am still working on the proposal. Folks are more than welcomed to voice their opinions when it is published. Something I would like to stress is the the crux of this proposal is this principal: If an enemy subject is differentiated by color in its published name, it warrants receiving a dedicated article only if it is also accompanied by behavioral or mechanical differences, RPG statistics, or comparable attributes that affect gameplay. If color is the only differentiating attribute of the subject, creating a dedicated article for it is discouraged. If a subject is only differentiated from a parent by color with no accompanying differences at all, it is not necessary for it to receive an article of its own.
- I think the praying Koopa is a Red Koopa Troopa. - Nintendo101 (talk) 15:14, March 8, 2025 (EST)
- I do think you should demo how some of the articles themselves would look before you make the proposal available for voting, at any rate. Particularly the Troopas and the Shy Guys. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 13:35, March 9, 2025 (EDT)
- I agree! Examples will be provided when this proposal is rolled out. - Nintendo101 (talk) 19:44, March 9, 2025 (EDT)

Classic Mode routes[edit]
I think they're supposed to be formatted like this, which I think @Mario did at one point. Super Mario RPG (talk) 12:39, March 9, 2025 (EDT)

Missions[edit]
I know missions from the mainline Super Mario games are now formatted in quotes, since your proposal passed. That being said, would it be safe to also do for quests from Mario Party Advance (and similar analogs)? They count as the in-game missions of the Shroom City mode. Super Mario RPG (talk) 23:03, March 9, 2025 (EDT)
- That's a fair question, but I personally do not know Mario Party Advance well enough to say whether that makes sense, and part of the reason why that proposal passed is because supporters felt like it was narrow in scope. I feel like it is not my place to apply the results of the proposal to things not covered on the mission article. - Nintendo101 (talk) 23:13, March 9, 2025 (EDT)
Glitch on renamed article name[edit]
The article Spinning Slots has been renamed "Slot Game BGM / Memory Game BGM" but the new name will become invisible when linked. It doesn't even show up when fake linking it. Can this be fixed?--Platform (talk) 00:06, March 10, 2025 (EDT)
- It seems to be working fine on my end. Can you elaborate on what problem you are referring to? - Nintendo101 (talk) 00:09, March 10, 2025 (EDT)
- It doesn't show up at all. I can't see Slot Game BGM / Memory Game BGM or Slot Game BGM / Memory Game BGM. The links in the previous sentence don't appear and looks like: I can't see or . on my end.--Platform (talk) 00:26, March 10, 2025 (EDT)
- Neither myself nor another staff member are encountering the issue you are: the page loads normally on our end. Are you sure there aren't any issues with your browser? - Nintendo101 (talk) 01:08, March 10, 2025 (EDT)
- Butting in from the Discord here; does it appear in Incognito Mode? Have you tried refreshing without the cache (should be Ctrl+F5 on both Chrome and Firefox)?

Jet pipe image[edit]
In that case, would it be better to upload a full screenshot instead of a not-quite-sprite rip? I have plenty in storage from my animating that.... Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 12:19, March 13, 2025 (EDT)
- I would not replace the image without considering how it is used on the site in its current state. - Nintendo101 (talk) 16:30, March 13, 2025 (EDT)
