The show was aired only in the United Kingdom and not in the United States as ''[[The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!]]'' was airing around that time in the United States. Each night, the show had two guest players, who would have to play various games from the [[Super Mario (franchise)|''Super Mario'' franchise]], such as ''[[Super Mario Bros.]]'' and ''[[Super Mario Bros. 3]]''. The two players would compete to see who could get more [[Coin]]s in a level, or who could finish the level in the faster time.

Two guest players would have to do tasks all of which involved playing the Nintendo video games Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2 and then later after its release in 1991 Super Mario Bros. 3.

The show was dropped in 1991 quite a while before The Children's Channel rebranding to TCC,this is evident in Link Anchor Man receiving several letters asking if the show would be repeated, which it never was.

The Super Mario Challenge was a game show that aired on The Children's Channel from 1990–1991. The show was aired only in the United Kingdom and not in the United States as The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! was airing around that time in the United States. It was hosted by Mario himself, played by John Lenahan. Each night, the show had two guest players, who would have to play various games from the Super Mario franchise, such as Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros. 3. The two players would compete to see who could get more Coins in a level, or who could finish the level in the faster time.
