World 4-3 is the third level of World 4 in Super Mario Bros. and the fifteenth level overall in said game. Unlike most ground levels, which have a green or gray palette for objects, this level has an orange and red one for the tall Super Mushrooms, which also affects the flagpole.

Layout[edit]

This level takes place on tall Super Mushrooms, some of which are lined with coins and/or Koopa Troopas and are separated by scale lifts or Koopa Paratroopas. Over the third tallest Super Mushroom is a ? Block containing a power-up. After the first scale are two vertically moving lifts, and afterward are a group of three scales before a final lift that can be used to reach the top of the flagpole.

Super Mario Bros. Deluxe challenges[edit]

In Super Mario Bros. Deluxe, the player can collect five Red Coins, find a hidden Yoshi Egg, and get a medal based on their score. The Yoshi Egg is found in a Hidden Block to the left of the second to last Super Mushroom (directly above the cloud), and the score to beat is 24000 (21000 in the Japanese version[1]). The Red Coin locations are:

  • Underneath the second tallest Super Mushroom
  • Underneath the first scale platform
  • On the bottom Super Mushroom after the second vertically moving lift
  • Underneath the final scale platform
  • High above the second to last Super Mushroom
