When you mentioned merging, I support you in that regard. It would fare much better in the Luigi's Mansion article. I wouldn't if we see it appearing as a returning obstacle in more than one place, but that's not the case. There are some other articles that should also be merged if this is though, so I'll see if they fare any better. As for this article, now that I'm actually giving a proper comment, I recommend what you say. This article could still stay as an article, but if it's not properly named and etc., we don't need it. It's like saying "Planet". - {{User:Ninelevendo/sig}} 01:29, 23 July 2014 (EDT) | When you mentioned merging, I support you in that regard. It would fare much better in the Luigi's Mansion article. Why do we need this article again? It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 01:02, 8 July 2014 (EDT)
- Because it's like Whispy Woods and the Great Deku tree? I think not. - 02:34, 8 July 2014 (EDT)
- Maybe a delete? We don't have those random gingerbread cookies from MK8. Do we? - 03:00, 8 July 2014 (EDT)
- Mainly because they're just spectators. This, however, has an official name, doesn't break any policy by being here, is the main obstacle of its respective course, and is as relevant to the series as articles like Bouncing Notes, or Roller. It doesn't hurt the wiki to have this article so I don't see a reason for deletion. Yoshi876 (talk)
- Sounds fair enough. - 16:31, 8 July 2014 (EDT)
- .....the name isn't official. It comes directly from a file called "move_tree" or something. I'd merge this page with its respective course article simply because that would mean EVERY obstacle in Mario Kart should warrant an article. Do the roller coasters from Baby Park, destroyable blocks from Vanilla Lake and Ghost Valley, Pinballs from Waluigi Pinball, etc get their own articles? These are similar to moving walls, they do EVEN LESS than the bouncing notes. It's not even the main obstacle of the course: I think the mud and grass have more of an obstacle than them. It's a bit like Gray Bowser Statue. It's not a minor character, but I'm pretty sure the more coverage the better. - 23:42, 19 July 2014 (EDT)
- Gray Bowser Statue at least has continuity (aka reoccurring enough times to have its own page). This obstacle is likely to be one-off. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 16:31, 22 July 2014 (EDT)
- It's appeared in two games. At least it's more relevant than Mario's Star or something like that. - 17:09, 22 July 2014 (EDT)

- It still counts an appearance. It should be list in MK7's Category and etc.. But if this were to get deleted, there's a lot of other articles like this that should get deleted. Merge Moving Tree into Luigi's Mansion (course)[edit]
This talk page proposal has already been settled. Please do not edit any of the sections in the proposal. If you wish to discuss the article, do so in a new header below the proposal. |
merge 16-0
This affects all similar, insignificant stage hazards. This includes Roller (obstacle) and Bouncing Notes.
This article has little reason to be a standalone article.
- This stage hazard appears once only in this course and its remake, and it doesn't have an official name. Moving walls that crush Mario, that spaceship that shoots you in Spacedust Alley, mechanical Piranha Plants from Waluigi Stadium (GCN), the pinballs from Waluigi Pinball, the snowballs from DK Pass, the falling pillars from Dry Dry Desert, the drawbridge bell from Boulder Canyon, the giant dinosaur from Ancient Lake... they all do as much, and probably more, than those moving trees from Luigi's Mansion, but they don't have their own articles.
- We have articles on Roller and Bouncing Notes, but it does not justify keeping this and and these articles separate.
- It doesn't break policy, sure, but policy is not set in stone, nor is it always a surefire way to dictate which articles are necessary to keep. Fly, when it was a redundant page of Fly (move), doesn't break any policy. Dribble and Spitz's taxi doesn't break any policy.
- If there are any policy that deals on significance or notability, then I can technically argue that it does break policy, since such arguments are subjective.
- Other stage hazards, such as Wigglers, Chain Chomps, Banzai Bills, Monty Moles, and Gray Bowser Statues, have made much more appearances outside being a stage hazard in one course. Besides, the majority are iconic Mario enemies anyway. Moving Trees are none of the above.
