[[Bowser]] uses a time machine to steal various relics from the past in hopes of displaying them in his museum. [[Mario]] knows this will change the course of history. He sets off, with [[Yoshi]], to Bowser's Museum in hopes of stopping Bowser before it's too late. However, on their journey, Yoshi runs ahead and gets captured by Bowser. Mario's quest has now become a rescue mission.

Mario starts off by picking a door in the hub that is Bowser's Museum. Next, Mario had to go through a ''[[Mario Bros.]]'' esque minigame and recover an artifact. Then, he must enter the time machine and return the artifact to it's rightful place in time.
