About

On Sunday, May 23, 2010, a proposal concerning several changes in our current main page was accepted by the community and passed. This proposal can be viewed here.

One point this proposal addressed was the creation of a Poll Committee, a selected group of users to create and select polls to feature on the main page. The members of this committee are meant to be selected by a person in charge of the committee, the Poll Committee Chairperson, who shall be elected by the community.

The polls are usually swapped every two weeks on Sunday at around 8:00 P.M. EST.

How do you feel about online multiplayer in Mario Party titles? (Hooded Pitohui (talk), July 18, 2021)

How do you feel about online multiplayer in Mario Party titles?

Online multiplayer makes Mario Party games more enjoyable and more enticing purchases, and should be included by default in every game in the series going forward. 51.06% (846 votes)
I enjoy online multiplayer in Mario Party games, but I do not consider it essential to the game and its presence or absence does not affect my choice to purchase these titles. 17.14% (284 votes)
I don't play Mario Party and do not have an opinion on this. 12.13% (201 votes)
I see online multiplayer as essential to enjoying Mario Party, and feel Nintendo should make it free and usable even to those who do not have an NSO subscription. 6.88% (114 votes)
Having online multiplayer in Mario Party is important to me, but I am okay with it being added in post-release updates. 5.49% (91 votes)
While online multiplayer is a step in the right direction, it would be even better if Nintendo took steps to allow online players to capture some of the experiences of playing in the same space as others. 3.86% (64 votes)
I would prefer that Mario Party games do not have online multiplayer options, as it takes away from the core focus on local multiplayer experiences. 3.44% (57 votes)

Kinopio's Cafe, a Mario-themed restaurant, is now open in Super Nintendo World in Osaka, Japan. Are you interested in dining at the restaurant?

Yes, I would love to visit Kinopio's Cafe and have the full experience of dining in a Mario-themed restaurant. 61.95% (845 votes)
I would like to visit Kinopio's Cafe, but I am more interested in the atmosphere and decoration than dining on the food. 17.38% (237 votes)
I have no desire to visit or dine in this specific restaurant, but I would consider eating at a similar Mario-themed restaurant if one more accessible to me opened. 12.83% (175 votes)
I am not in the least bit interested in a Mario-themed restaurant and would not dine at this restaurant or any like it. 3.74% (51 votes)
I would like to visit Kinopio's Cafe, but I am more interested in the Mario-themed dishes rather than the atmosphere or decorations. 2.27% (31 votes)

Recently, Mario spin-off titles have added generic members of species to their rosters, such as Spike and Chain Chomp. How do you feel about this? (Hooded Pitohui (talk) and Luigi 64DD (talk), June 20th, 2021)

Recently, Mario spin-off titles have added generic members of species to their rosters, such as Spike and Chain Chomp. How do you feel about this?

I enjoy seeing these representatives of these species on rosters and hope that more species are used as playable characters in spin-off titles. 56.20% (897 votes)
I don't mind these kinds of additions, but I'd rather see them limited to games with larger rosters like Mario Kart and the baseball titles. 17.79% (284 votes)
I dislike the practice of adding species representatives to spin-off rosters and would prefer that established individual characters (e.g., E. Gadd, Cappy) are added instead. 12.09% (193 votes)
While I dislike the addition of generic species representatives, I wouldn't mind these additions if they were fleshed out as distinct characters. 7.08% (113 votes)
I've enjoyed the various species representatives added to the rosters of spin-off games, but I don't think there should be more. 6.83% (109 votes)

With the Switch past the fourth year of its life, what next step do you hope to see Nintendo take with their console line? (Hooded Pitohui (talk) and Lakituthequick (talk), June 6th, 2021)

With the Switch past the fourth year of its life, what next step do you hope to see Nintendo take with their console line?

There's no need for a new console; Nintendo should focus on supporting the Nintendo Switch with new game releases and expanded online services. 37.47% (704 votes)
I would like to see a new version of the Switch that improves its power and graphics, allowing it to run more (graphically) intensive games. 34.54% (649 votes)
I would like to see a new version of the Switch that improves its battery life and makes quality of life adjustments to make it even more portable. 11.23% (211 votes)
Nintendo should release a new console which builds on the Switch, but has its own brand and identity. 10.16% (191 votes)
Nintendo should release a console wholly unlike the Switch, with a new focus and core concept. 5.00% (94 votes)
The Nintendo Switch Lite provides the best template for Nintendo to follow, and their future releases should be dedicated handhelds. 1.60% (30 votes)

Should Nintendo use Donkey Kong (1981) as the basis of the anniversary celebrations for the Super Mario franchise over Super Mario Bros. (1985)? (winstein (talk) and Hooded Pitohui (talk), May 23rd, 2021)

Should Nintendo use Donkey Kong (1981) as the basis of the anniversary celebrations for the Super Mario franchise over Super Mario Bros. (1985)?

It is fine to use Super Mario Bros. as a reference for the Super Mario franchise's anniversary, but there should also be official anniversary acknowledgements of the Super Mario franchise's origins in Donkey Kong. 40.25% (605 votes)
Super Mario Bros. should strictly be considered the start of the Super Mario franchise for anniversary purposes, but Donkey Kong should strictly be considered the anniversary of Mario as a character 26.68% (401 votes)
Nintendo should recognize Mario's Donkey Kong origins, and use the date of Donkey Kong's release as the only anniversary date for the Super Mario franchise. 14.44% (217 votes)
There is no need for official acknowledgement of Donkey Kong for anniversary purposes, but continued references to Donkey Kong in the Super Mario series are appreciated. 9.65% (145 votes)
Super Mario Bros. should be the only basis for anniversaries of Mario and the Super Mario franchise, and Donkey Kong should be considered separate from the Super Mario franchise. 8.98% (135 votes)

Mario has only used F.L.U.D.D. in one Super Mario game. Would you like to see more games featuring Mario using F.L.U.D.D.?

I would like a new platformer with F.L.U.D.D. as the main mechanic, either as a follow-up to Super Mario Sunshine or another platformer. 50.23% (868 votes)
I would prefer a spin-off game that repurposes F.L.U.D.D. in a different way from Super Mario Sunshine. 17.94% (310 votes)
I would prefer Mario continue to receive companions or use inventions similar to but distinct from F.L.U.D.D. (e.g., Cappy) 14.47% (250 votes)

I prefer it if Mario stopped using F.L.U.D.D. in any capacity. 4.28% (74 votes)
