The '''Goal Ring''' made its first appearance in the [[Challenge Mode (New Super Mario Bros. U)|Challenge Mode]] of ''[[New Super Mario Bros. U]]''. The Goal Ring is only found in the game’s Challenge Mode. Similar to the [[Goal Pole]], the Goal Ring is used to finish a level/challenge. The Goal Ring is always found at the end of a challenge, and the player must jump through the Goal Ring to finish the challenge. Goal Ring’s do not appear in every challenge though. Goal Poles and sometimes nothing are used to finish a challenge. The challenges listed below are the challenges that use the Goal Ring.

The goal ring is an object found in the Challenge Mode of New Super Mario Bros. U. It is a cyan-and-blue striped ring with a red flag on top. Goal rings are used as a substitute to the Goal Poles found in side-scrolling levels. When a player passes through a goal ring, the timer stops and the challenge ends.
