The Gold Ghost is the first ghost Luigi encounters in Luigi's Mansion. It is first met in the Parlor, which is accessed after obtaining the key from a Gold Ghost in the Foyer, after blowing all six candles out with the Poltergust 3000. The paintings in the room would come to life, then the doors would seal up and three of these ghouls would appear, one-by-one. These normal ghosts would only have ten HP and would be easy to beat once Luigi was accustomed to his new vacuum. This ghost's tactic of choice is to move directly towards Luigi and attack using a short-range uppercut. They would reappear countless times in the mansion, found in groups of two or more and could be hurt by any element.

Gold Ghosts, also known as jabbers[1] or orange ghosts,[2][3] are enemies in Luigi's Mansion and the first ghost type Luigi encounters in the game. Since their debut, Gold Ghosts have only made cameos and minor appearances.

History

Luigi's Mansion

In Luigi's Mansion and its Nintendo 3DS version, one Gold Ghost is first seen in the Foyer as a foggy cloud carrying a key, which then goes through a door into the Parlor. There, a group of them accost Luigi, leading him to meet Professor E. Gadd. They later appear in the training mode in E. Gadd's hideout, where they chase Luigi but do not attack him, unlike the ones found in the mansion. They reappear countless times throughout the mansion, found in groups of two or more and can be hurt by any element. Three Gold Ghosts (five in the PAL Hidden Mansion) are fought as the first wave of ghosts Vincent Van Gore sends at Luigi.

Greenies, found in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, and Goobs, found in Luigi's Mansion 3, are the equivalent of the Gold Ghosts.

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga / Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions
