DonnyKD, the player can't take Baby Yoshi's out of the home level. Alot of levels does have the same look like this level. Almost whole Acorn Plains does have a level like this. Cause on the demo on E3 if you finish a level where Baby Yoshi's are in it, Mario, Luigi, Yellow Toad, Blue Toad or a Mii should release the Baby Yoshi, and they will wave a goodbye. Maybe you're right, but let's wait till Nintendo comfirms it or wait till 30/11/2012. But the screenshots are real ;). 10:31, 27 October 2012 (EDT)
That was the E3 version, you should check out some of the videos from Nintendos recent events.
http://i45.tinypic.com/2ch9hj8.jpg
Yoshi still waves, but then he follows you into the castle. Whether this means anything for sure is unknown until the game is released, but having a change like that made might mean that Nintendo has something in mind. ~ Chaoxys
Yes, i saw a video, the Baby Yoshi came in the castle. But when they played "Acrobat Pack" and they finished with a Balloon Baby Yoshi, he didin't appear. Maybe it will in the real version. Let's see :). 08:35, 29 October 2012 (EDT)

==World 4 or 5== | |||
Everyone is asking wich is world 4 or world 5, Soda Jungle or Sparkling Waters? Well, i know the answer. Soda Jungle is the fourth world and Sparkling Waters is the fifth world. That's the original ranking. It is possible to choose the way that is conversaly, but it's not the original ranking. If you don't agree with mee, reply and let's discuss about this. 19:01, 30 October 2012 (EDT)
** No, Sparkling Waters shouldn't be the fifth world. You can go straight to it from Layer Cake Desert. So really, Frosted Glacier and Sparkling Waters can either be the third or fifth worlds. DonnyKD (talk) 20:43, 30 October 2012 (EDT)
You said it shouldn't be the fifth world, but it IS the fifth world. Frosted Glacier IS the third world, soda jungle IS the fourth world and sparkling waters IS the fifth world. 10:38, 31 October 2012 (EDT)
** No, it isn't. Acorn Plains might be the first world, and Layer Cake Desert the second, but Sparkling Waters could be the fifth OR third world, or can be skipped entirely. Same goes for Frosted Glacier. There's no confirmation or indication that what you say is true. DonnyKD (talk) 10:39, 31 October 2012 (EDT)

==Extra levels?== | |||
Around here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=YIk9dR-XA8E#t=26s There seems to be a level that doesn't seem to fit any named level description. Its the level before Soda Jungle, but it doesn't look like its part of it. It doesn't look like its part of Frosted Glacier, either, since it comes after the castle. Additionally, the level prolly has a secret exit (or a secret in Sparkling Waters leads to it), since it goes down to Sparkling Waters. DonnyKD (talk) 18:10, 31 October 2012 (EDT)
This is what i THINK: It comes after Sparkling Waters with the Secret Exit with the fork of Layer Cake Desert. I think it's part of Frosted Glacier because it's on something snowy. Like i said, this is what i THINK. 15:47, 2 November 2012 (EDT)

::::::::::They are most certainly NOT the same game, despite looking similar. New Super Mario Bros. Mii was a tech-demo for the Wii U. It's the same reason we don't merge Balloon Trip into Yoshi Touch & Go. The article says that NSMBU is "based on" NSMBM. That does not mean they are the same game. It means that elements from NSMBM made it into NSMBU. Tech demos deserve separate articles. The difference between a tech demo and a normal game is that a tech demo usually shows off simply a console's capabilities at a demonstration while games are commercial products that may have evolved from a tech demo. Don't confuse the two.

Bowser is in the game[edit]
Although he has not appeared in person, he can be seen in the background in a picture. This means that he at least makes a cameo, which still means that he's in the game. I'm just going to add him.
This is the picture in question: User:MarioMaster720
- We can add him and also we should add later about Vincent Van Gogh (I think that is the guy)the guy who made artwork that is very similar to the background of that level.YoshiGo99
- Yeah, Van Gogh is the one who's paintings look like this.--MarioManiac164 (talk)
Flying Racoon?[edit]
I don't know, but what I saw was Mario getting a Bat Mushroom and turning into a bat --Walleo 16:24, 5 June 2012 (EDT)
I think you mean the Squirrel Power-up. The Raccoon power-up isn't confirmed nor the Bat power-up.YoshiGo99
Never mind. I didn't read it correctly. --Walleo 21:53, 5 June 2012 (EDT)
Weird Goombas[edit]
Those strange looking goombas with round heads, I figured out what makes them different from normal ones! They don't fall off the edge, but turn around, like Red Koopas. yoshiyoshiyoshi (talk)
- I didn't know that but I don't think these are the Round Goombas. If you look at the tops of their heads they have like a cap thing like acorns. Would they be like called Acorn Goombas? That is what I wanna know.YoshiGo99
Me neither, and I certainly don't think they're Goombos. I'll remove both of those from the enemies, until more infromation is found out about them. yoshiyoshiyoshi (talk) --Landfish7 20:20, 5 June 2012 (EDT)
They're the Kuribon Goombas from Super Mario World, I think. User:Marioluigi9
There Actually Goombrats. User:SuperMarioBros
Goomba Towers[edit]
In the trailer at the end they appeared right before the flagpole. Shown around 1:30 here: Trailer -- Landfish7 20:20, 5 June 2012 (EDT)
- Nevermind, I realized the stupidity in that. --Landfish7 20:50, 5 June 2012 (EDT)
Baby Yoshis[edit]
From what I can tell from the screenshots, the abilities of the baby yoshis are
- Blue - spits bubbles to defeat enemies
- Red (purple) - balloons up and can fly
- Yellow - glows
--Fbrookie 01:34, 7 June 2012 (EDT)
We already know, we just haven't put it in yet. Maybe it is because we are waiting for more on the Baby Yoshis.YoshiGo99
Connection with NSMBMii[edit]
Does this game have anything to do with last year's New Super Mario Bros. Mii demo? Looks like this game borrows some concepts such as Miis. But it also looks completely different. Would it be okay to make the connection?
— The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mahboi (talk).
- It's based off of it, but only through the Miis. --DonnyKD 02:42, 6 June 2012 (EDT)
Actually, I think there is a connection between NSMBM and this game - just watch the Iwata Asks: New Super Mario Bros. U video. rend (talk) (edits) 11:24, 7 June 2012 (EDT)
- Also, in the New Super Mario Bros. Mii videos, the same exact waterfall level with the water geysers appears in the Wii U trailer! Look:
This one was in a partial video for NSMBU that was shown after the game was announced. It's also very similar in layout to the waterfall one in NSMBU too with the Urchins on the group art. NinjaYoshi
- According to nintendo world report, nsmbm was a tech demo that would later become a full-fledged game, which is now nsmbu. here's the link saying it. http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/29838
I say we should merge those pages.--Thejfh1999 22:31, 8 July 2012 (EDT) Same here! DK Fan
I'm pretty sure that NSMBMii is the same as NSMBUWorld 6 (talk) 03:14, 30 August 2012 (EDT)
Release Date[edit]
I read on amazon that NSMBU is going to be released on 12/31/2013, I think they meant 12/31/2012 but I just wanted to mention this. EmperorLuigi115 (talk) False. Amazon is false. NSMBU is coming out Nov.18th 2012 in the USA, Is out in Japan, and will be in Europe and Australia Nov.30th 2012 Yoshi101 (talk)
Anything that ends in 31 is an obvious placeholder. yoshiyoshiyoshi (talk)
Available at wii u launch!!![edit]
Hi. If you check out the Iwanta Asks video on the e3 2012 website, that director says the game will be available at wiiu's launch. http://e3.nintendo.com/games/#/wiiu/new-super-mario-bros-u theres the link.- Link 007

Yoshi is ridable?[edit]
it seems by the looks of this artwork we might get to ride a yoshi to but though he never showed in the trailer or in a single screenshot well I wonder he will do this time? gamermakerguy (talk)
He looks perfectly ridable to me. He was ridable in Super Mario World, Super Mario Sunshine, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, and Super Mario Galaxy 2, remember? So he should most likely be ridable in NSMBU(I'd rather call it NSMB4), correct? --Mario X-Fan 45
You will just try to figure it out, but you should ride Yoshi, because you may JUST HATE BEING HIT BY AN ENEMY. This is how you ride Yoshi. Also, there are new Baby Yoshis: Balloon Baby Yoshi, Bubble Baby Yoshi, and Glowing Baby Yoshi. --New Supermatt Bros. (talk) 00:15, 14 September 2013 (EDT)
4 Yoshi colours?[edit]
Will there be 4 Yoshi's (regular) as the Wii version? --Armin00 17:04, 13 July 2012 (EDT)
Were not sure about it yet yoshi wasn't shown in gameplay yet but his artwork shows that he will so I dunno what colors (besides green) gamermakerguy (talk)
From what's confirmed so far that is highly unlikely, but what has been confirmed is that they have Baby Bubble Yoshi (Blue), Baby Blimp Yoshi (Magenta), Baby Bulb Yoshi (Light-Yellow), and Yoshi(Green). Here's my prediction: that Bulb Yoshi looks like it will be replaced like Red Yoshi and Blue Yoshi, because of the color I honestly think that it will be raplaced by a Baby Fire Yoshi (Red) and it will be for seeing in the dark and breathing fire/shooting fireballs.CRode (talk)
Well we don't know for sure dude they could possibly add more colored yoshi's cause that could be confusing riding all green yoshi's since there bigger then baby ones and funny all baby yoshi's have orange shoes instead of colored shoes we will get info and see but i gotta a funny feeling that the SMW version's of yoshi culd appear (not that it is true) gamermakerguy (talk),

The Cover?[edit]
is this the cover to game it looks kinda real to me but i sorta think it is fake that frame is real though it was comfirmed but i mean the pic I don't even know if it is but the 5 looks kinda got a feeling it could be fake... gamermakerguy (talk)
Ice Flower? and Fire Mario[edit]
well the ice flower is my predition I think that since this is based of NSMBM and had used power ups from that demo even is a NSMBW sequeal but my bet is it would appear sort of likeley. Also Fire Mario is missing in the transformaion article gamermakerguy (talk),
- Like all Super Mario Bros. games, the Fire Flower will appear, especially the Super Mushroom. It is most likely the Ice Flower will reappear.--Prince Ludwig (talk) 15:17, 16 August 2012 (EDT)

More Power-Ups[edit]
Man, there is only one new power up. And three old power-ups. They should return Ice and Peguin Mario. Are there really only 4 Power-Ups. --Armin00 13:58, 17 August 2012 (EDT)

merge with nsmbm[edit]
I have proof that this game is just new super mario bros mii renamed. http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/29838 Can someone please help me do what it takes to merge those 2 pages??????--Thejfh1999 (talk) 21:35, 23 August 2012 (EDT)
- That's an assumption, kid. The article was even made BEFORE NSMBU was offically announced. So no, we are not merging, since the two games are almost completely different from each other. DonnyKD (talk) 02:40, 24 August 2012 (EDT)

Bosses?[edit]

The Koopalings will have the castle stages, boom-boom and Kamek in forts and bowser jr. in doomship stages. {{User:Fawful1996
Fortress?[edit]

Somebody get to work on this[edit]
New from GameInformer:
- dozens of levels across one world map, like Super Mario World - map can be panned around and explored at any time - multiple branching paths that let you pick which way to go - this is much more than the tradition level choosing, which usually gives you only two paths to choose from - Game Informer spotted 7 worlds: Acorn Plains, Sparkling Waters (tropical), Frosted Glacier, Layer Cake Desert (complete with melting desserts), areas similar to Forest of Illusion and Sky World and a world surround by a tornado - mid-world fortresses guarded by Boom-Boom - end-level castles guarded by Koopalings - Super Acorn power-up makes you a flying squirrel - Bowser kidnaps Peach once again
So, Super Acorn, Boom-Boom, and Koopalings, along with new worlds. DonnyKD (talk) 21:29, 7 September 2012 (EDT)
More screenshots found[edit]
I have found even more screenshots on this site it even shows one with Torpedo Ted returning and screenshots with Mario riding Yoshi and other elements look right there can they also be uploaded http://www.palmgamer.com/fab-new-super-mario-bros-u-details-revealed/ (scroll down and click them to get the large images) gamermakerguy (talk)

Flophoppers?[edit]

They don't appear in NSMBU, as far as we know. The person who added them to the enemy list did not cite any sources, plus no trailers I seen have any of those enemies in there. But I think most of the enemies he unneccesarily added might appear in NSMBU, but the truth is not known yet. Smithuser (talk)

The main article page says Acorn Plains is World 1, Layer Cake Desert is World 2, and Frosted Glacier is World 3. Here's the proof (go to 3:30): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsiO5qlyeIw DonnyKD (talk) 23:14, 14 September 2012 (EDT)
Super Leaf + Large Block[edit]
Look northeast near Mario, I see something brown and sparkling. It looks like a Super Leaf to me but I'm not entirely sure... Also southwest of Yellow Toad there is a block which is larger then a normal block. ~ Qyzxf (talk)
I think the sparkly thing you see is actually the Mii with the Flying Squirrel suit, and the block you're saying is just the enlightenment of the screen imo. DohIMissed
- The "Super Leaf" is Flying Squirrel Mario and the large block is where the 3-Up Moons came from. DonnyKD (talk) 11:45, 15 September 2012 (EDT)
With the block i through he meant the enlightenment at the right part of the screen at the top XD. But the block you're saying is a block with a music note inside that pops out 3-Up moons, and is currently called 3-Up Moon Blocks. DohIMissed
Going in bubble is possible! YAY![edit]

Start working on the World articles?[edit]
I know we shouldn't until the game's near release/when we have enough info, but I say we have enough to suffice an article summarizing the worlds. Like, for instance, Acorn Plains. We already have a rough estimate at what it looks like: [url][/url] And we've seen every level except the Enemy Course, the level on the hill and the Fortress. World 8??[edit]
could the grasslands from the past nsmb games?! CRode (talk)CRode (talk)
Yes, It is. The Boss Takes Plase in Bowser's Airship but Mario has to get to the right tower to get to the cannon to reach it. I have heard that Bowser's Battle is simalar to Bowser Jr's Boss battles from NSMBW.
— The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lcc98 (talk).
- All this speculation is pointless unless you provide REFERENCES. Don't get me wrong, I believe you, but others won't so you must prove it through, either a site, video or if you mysteriously got the game before the world did (which in that case tell me how). Otherwise the content you'll add will immediately get deleted. JackpotJordan 13:33, 30 September 2012 (EDT)
It was on 2 youtube videos, one showning in the latest trailer that after Mario and Co. are thrown to acorn plains the koopalings splitup in all directions while bowser's airship stays at the castle. and if one takes a closer look at the castle there is a door on the left leading up to the right tower where Mario and Co. are shot to the airship.
— The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lcc98 (talk).
Seriously sign your comments. But that is not proof it is world 8. It could just be a special world or an non-acessiable area. We don't want to guess other on things. Videos aren't the best, text is the best because it explains the details.YoshiGo99

It is possible but only using Boost mode and Star power.YoshiGo99
Its only possible when the player playing as Mario or the like steps on the Boost Blocks with the symbols on them. On the top of the GamePad screen, everytime that happens, a star icon fills up. When its fully filled, the GamePad player has the ability to destry enemies while creating Star Boost Blocks. DonnyKD (talk) 21:21, 30 September 2012 (EDT)

Now, what could be its purpose?

- They activate Green Coins. Its like Red Coins, but in fives packs of three, and they only give out 1-ups.
- I think they were also planned for NSMBWii, considering there was an unused green coin model in said game. User:Smithuser

New Info[edit]
Parachute Coins are in.
It looks like you can take Baby Yoshis out of their home levels too.
DonnyKD (talk) 18:23, 23 October 2012 (EDT)
DonnyKD, the player can't take Baby Yoshi's out of the home level. Alot of levels does have the same look like this level. Almost whole Acorn Plains does have a level like this. Cause on the demo on E3 if you finish a level where Baby Yoshi's are in it, Mario, Luigi, Yellow Toad, Blue Toad or a Mii should release the Baby Yoshi, and they will wave a goodbye. Maybe you're right, but let's wait till Nintendo comfirms it or wait till 30/11/2012. But the screenshots are real ;). Armin00 10:31, 27 October 2012 (EDT)
That was the E3 version, you should check out some of the videos from Nintendos recent events.
Armin00 08:35, 29 October 2012 (EDT)

World 4 or 5[edit]
Everyone is asking wich is world 4 or world 5, Soda Jungle or Sparkling Waters? Well, i know the answer. Soda Jungle is the fourth world and Sparkling Waters is the fifth world. That's the original ranking. It is possible to choose the way that is conversaly, but it's not the original ranking. If you don't agree with mee, reply and let's discuss about this. Armin00 19:01, 30 October 2012 (EDT)
You said it shouldn't be the fifth world, but it IS the fifth world. Frosted Glacier IS the third world, soda jungle IS the fourth world and sparkling waters IS the fifth world. Armin00 10:38, 31 October 2012 (EDT)
- No, it isn't.
How do you know you can go via LCD to Sparkling Waters? Armin00 10:42, 31 October 2012 (EDT)
- http://gonintendo.com/?mode=viewstory&id=189230 and it says "After World 2, you reach a fork in the road that leads to either Sparking Waters or Frozen Glacier". DonnyKD (talk) 10:45, 31 October 2012 (EDT)
Ok Armin00 10:48, 31 October 2012 (EDT)
This means that I'm going to call Frosted Glacier World 3A, Sparkling Waters World 3B, and Soda Jungle World 4. Mario & Luigi: The 9th Saga!
Extra levels?[edit]
Armin00 15:47, 2 November 2012 (EDT)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDxlhPMCQgo&feature=g-u-u This video here shows Bubble Baby Yoshi in Tropical Refresher (by the way, every level is named "[insert world name here]-[insert number here]" and underneath is the true level name). He seems to have new controls (he can spin and boost for a short distance). Also, in the middle of a video, there was a sound (think Sonic's underwater drowning music) that was only stopped when Mario grabbed a coin in a bubble. DonnyKD (talk) 06:00, 9 November 2012 (EST)

- Whatever it is, it isn't something to discuss over here. Only bring up the subject if you know of a reference showing a propeller mushroom. Otherwise take discussions like this to the forums. JackpotJordan 15:09, 13 November 2012 (EST)

Numbered Worlds[edit]
In the the article the worlds are numbered, but in this game, is like Super Mario World. The name of the levels aren't "1-4" or "3-5", they are named like "Acorn Plains-1" or "Soda Lake-2". I think numbering the worlds is not necessary Sebba93 (talk)
- Yes, although all the levels of each world has a specific-creative name. On the other hand, this needs to be talked over in the forums, not the talk page.

Buster Beetle? and references to games[edit]

3 or 4[edit]
Just curious as too why we are labeling Sparkling Waters and Frosted Glacier as Worlds 3 and 4 now....I have not seen anything in game to distinguish which one the game considers World 3 and World 4. --SinnohMasterGalaxy (talk) 14:52, 22 November 2012 (EST)
- Superstar Road-3 is a water course, and Superstar Road-4 is a ice course. Since every level is based on the world you need the Star Coins from, its one hint. Other sources (like GameXplain) label Sparkling Waters as World 3. DonnyKD (talk) 16:48, 22 November 2012 (EST)
- Thanks...I actually noticed another thing when I played today. After Layer-Cake Desert I went to Frosted Glacier and then Soda Jungle. There is then a gap in the white flags at the file load screen and the third is missing so I guess that makes it even more so.--SinnohMasterGalaxy (talk) 18:43, 25 November 2012 (EST)

If i understand you're question, then i got the answer. You have to pick a Balloon/Bubble Baby Yoshi from the world map to play more than 1 level with the Balloon/Bubble Baby Yoshi. If you pick a Baby Yoshi from a ? block, it won't come with you. Armin00 13:27, 16 December 2012 (EST)

Acorn Kingdom[edit]
People say this took place in the Mushroom Kingdom, Doesn't the mushroom Kingdom go to the left of Peach's Castle. Also I'm pretty sure that it was said "... and Mario and co. were flung into the Acorn Kingdom!..." I remember this quote. So isn't it actually the Acorn Knigdom, I mean they even have Acorn Power-ups, so i'll add it. if i could that is. 86.148.118.231 12:09, 21 December 2012 (EST)
- No such quote exists. The only "Acorn Kingdom" that comes up is the one from Sonic the Hedgehog. And the website says "and the heroes have been cast out to the furthest reaches of the Mushroom Kingdom." DonnyKD (talk) 16:35, 21 December 2012 (EST)
Ok. I guess Peach's Castle is in the centre of the Mushroom Kingdom then. 86.148.118.231 06:54, 22 December 2012 (EST)
Balloon Goombas and Conveyor Amps[edit]
Someone put these enemies on the new enemies section. What exactly are these enemies? I don't think I have seen any of these enemies in the game unless I missed them. Can anyone confirm seeing these enemies or I'm gonna have to remove them. Unless the Conveyor Amps are the ones in Peach's Castle with the Bowser Faces then I agree on it being a new enemy. But is that its official name? Smasher345 10:49, 23 December 2012 (EST)

Deep Cheeps[edit]
I know that Deep Cheeps have artwork for this game, however I cleared the story mode 100% and I don't ever recall seeing a deep cheep in the game at all. I checked all the underwater levels in the game and I still can't find deep cheeps. Anyone else who has the game knows if deep cheeps appear in the game? Smasher345 18:35, 1 January 2012 (EST)
- They're in Swim for Your Life!. DonnyKD (talk) 18:41, 1 January 2013 (EST)
- I just checked that level right now not a single one appears, only cheep cheeps, spiky cheep cheeps, the cheep chomp and urchins appear. Smasher345 18:51, 1 January 2012 (EST)
I just literally checked every possible level that would have include underwater enemies and I still couldn't find Deep Cheeps. My guess is that they may have been taken out of the game at the last second similar to the blue and pink baby Yoshi eggs despite all three having artwork for the game. Smasher345 08:35, 2 January 2012 (EST)
Deep Cheeps are beta-elements. It is like how New Super Mario Bros. Wii has artwork of Red Yoshi but they were never used in the game. Both the Magenta/Blue Baby Yoshi Eggs and Deep-Cheeps were removed. Looking from this list it doesn't have Deep-Cheeps any where and IGN is a good source.YoshiGo99
i think they are in the second level of sparkling waters. 86.148.182.78 13:36, 2 January 2013 (EST)

Glitch?[edit]
In Firefall Cliffs (Peach's Castle-4) there is a brick block that will soon be destroyed by a huge fireball. It is just after the Green Coin ring. However, you can use the shell nearby and, with good timing, throw it at the brick. It will become a solid Used Block, 'protected' by the fireball. Should I count this as a glitch? It's Flipthenote, here to help.
World Map[edit]
Will you please change the numbers? Sparkling Waters and Frosted Glacier can be skipped for each other. It should be:
- World 1: Acorn Plains: A grassy world with plenty of shrubs, slanted mountains, and the Acorn Tree.
- World 2: Layer-Cake Desert: A desert world with various desserts, such as melting ice creams, giant cakes, and a sea of sand with Moai-like statues.
- World 3a: Sparkling Waters: A tropical world with multiple islands, bubbling water geysers, and a sunken ship. This world can be entirely skipped for Frosted Glacier.
- World 3b: Frosted Glacier: A snowy world that takes place at night filled with stars and constellations. This world can be entirely skipped for Sparkling Waters.
- World 4: Soda Jungle: A rainforest-esque world similar to the Forest of Illusion, with giant enemies and blocks, similar to Big Island.
- World 5: Rock-Candy Mines: A mountainous world with tall, pillar like mountains. A cloud train seems to separate this world from the next world.
- World 6: Meringue Clouds: A sky world resembling the foreground of levels in World 7 from New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
- World 7: Peach's Castle: A grassland area, similar to World 1 from the previous New Super Mario Bros. games, containing mushroom hills and the castle of the princess. It has been taken over by the Koopa Troop and is slowly transformed into Bowser's image until eventually being surrounded by a tornado. By the time the player reaches the castle grounds, it has been transformed into a lava-based area. Princess Peach's castle remains mostly unchanged on the outside (the flags now have Bowser's symbol on them) but on the inside it is similar to Bowser's Castle from previous installments.
- World 8: Superstar Road: A secret world unlocked after beating Bowser's final battle. Its levels must be unlocked with the Star Coins collected from all the levels of previous worlds.
- Secret Island: A small area between Acorn Plains and Sparkling Waters that houses a Records Toad House. It must be unlocked as the same way as Superstar Road.
- Coin Courses: A multiplayer exclusive world found in Coin Battle.

The game officially considers Sparkling Water as World 3 and Frosted Glacier as World 4. There are several ways to see this in-game: 1. The flags in the file select screen. 2. Menu screens such as the warp pipe cannon and star coin collection screen has Sparkling Waters as the third world to be selected and Frosted Glacier as the fourth world to be selected. 3. Superstar Road-3 is unlocked by collecting all star coins in Sparkling Waters while Superstar Road-4 is unlocked by collecting all star coins in Frosted Glacier. Smasher345 20:41, 24 April 2013 (EST)

So if you were to disregard the valid points provided by Baby Luigi and Mario4Ever and stick with this argument as the only reason to merge the two articles, then I can see you proposing to merge the first three Donkey Kong Country games into one, because they have the "same graphics, same engine and same level design".

The difference between a tech demo and a normal game is that a tech demo usually shows off simply a console's capabilities at a demonstration while games are commercial products that may have evolved from a tech demo. Don't confuse the two.
Mario-HOHO! (Talk / Stalk) 14:48, 2 November 2013 (EDT)- While we're at it, let's merge the Mario Baseball games too. -- Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 15:09, 2 November 2013 (EDT)
- Dude, the Baseball games have different engines. And for God's sake, the levels are the exact same. I even got this directly from the article: "The E3 2011 demo will be a full-fledged game that will be officially revealed at E3 2012." Look it up.--Thejfh1999 (talk) 18:06, 2 November 2013 (EDT)
- They are most certainly NOT the same game, despite looking similar. - Must I start copy-pasting now until you consider our points?
Mario-HOHO! (Talk / Stalk) 00:11, 3 November 2013 (EDT)- Seriously. That's your rebuttal. All I'm asking is for you to CONSIDER they are the same game.--Thejfh1999 (talk) 11:46, 3 November 2013 (EST)

- Except that they aren't. This game has officially been stated to be based upon New Super Mario Bros. Mii, not that the demo was made into this game.

- Thejfh1999, consider Balloon Trip and Yoshi Touch & Go. Same engine but different articles because one is a tech demo while another is a commercially released game. It also has more features. Consider this analogy: Balloon Trip::Yoshi Touch & Go; New Super Mario Bros. Mii::New Super Mario Bros. U.
Mario-HOHO! (Talk / Stalk) 12:26, 3 November 2013 (EST)- I get your point Lefty. And thanks Toa for the proof. I give up. No merge then. GG.--Thejfh1999 (talk) 16:05, 3 November 2013 (EST)

Yoshi Pack[edit]
How do you unlock the Yoshi Pack and on in Boost Rush Mode? User:Whitey (talk / edits)
Maps?[edit]
Why isn't there a map of each level like in New Super Mario Bros (DS)? --Tonkku107 (talk) 09:23, 12 January 2014 (EST)
Typo in Yoshis section.[edit]
Where it talks about the Bubble Baby Yoshi, the phrase "an 1-Up Mushroom" is used, when it should be "a 1-Up Mushroom." I know this is a minor thing, but it looks kinda sloppy. Someone who can edit protected pages, please fix this. Thank you. WyndFox (talk) 04:07, 25 June 2014 (EDT)

Playble Miis[edit]
Miis are actually playble only in coin battle, boost mode, and challanges.

The worlds scheme with the levels[edit]
I draw the world scheme and placed the scheme on this page before the levels list. If you find a better place for it, or a bit better title, please edit it (or remove it, if it don't need it here). --Ger (talk) 08:32, April 17, 2019 (EDT)
Is this notable enough to be in the opening paragraphs?[edit]
Should the line "It is the first Super Mario series game to be released as a launch title for a home console since Super Mario 64." be moved to trivia? PinkYoshiFan 12:30, May 17, 2020 (EDT)
NSMBU is no longer the latest New Super Mario Bros. game[edit]
because New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe has come out, and New Super Luigi U could be considered its own game. 73.231.94.78 21:30, May 24, 2020 (EDT)
- New Super Luigi U is just add-on content for the game - although it was also available separately, downloading it from the eShop adds it as part of NSMBU which is key here. Deluxe is just a port of NSMBU and not actually a new game. -- Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 21:37, May 24, 2020 (EDT)
Swapped some Enemies and Obstacles[edit]
I've swapped some Enemies and Obstacles, that were in the wrong section. But I'm unsure about Spiked Ball, would this be an Enemie (like in SMM2), or an Obstacle?
By the way, here's a link to an official NSMB. U (Enemies) page from Nintendo Japan:
